we have been enjoying the little things over and over and over the last couple of days. Sierra requested a birthday cake last night---it's not her birthday, but she's cute and she's 4 and I adore her, so I made her a homemade chocolate buttermilk birthday cake (i should give your the recipe...it's the best...it's my mom's--remind me!) Anyway, she requested a candle to go on top of her piece of cake, so she got one, and has each time she's had a piece. She then requested that we sing Happy Birthday to her, so we did, and have each time she's had a piece, haha. Then, she closed her little eyes and made a wish---the sweetest of all the things I have ever heard her say. She wished that we could be a family forever---melt my heart sweet! She then sang Happy Birthday to her "dear family" and made one more wish---I LOVE 4, such a magical age.
This card was made for the Sketch This Cards blog. Lots of Basic Grey, Maya Road velvet flower, Scenic Route sticker, and Lil Davis bookplate. Be sure to check out the cards from the other designers---I just LOVE those amazing little girls over there!
Also, I'm happy to point you in the direction of another Paperie! Emma's Paperie is opening in a couple of weeks and is an online store dedicated to gift giving through paper crafting! I think it's the most wonderful idea and I am just tickled to have been asked to design for Cindy Smith, the owner along with Jessica Witty and Lisa Dorsey. Please check it out---it's adorable and I can't wait to get started.
Stay tuned tomorrow as I'll be guest blogging at Lime Tart and will have a fun challenge that involves paper crafted gifts.
Hope you're all having a wonderful week!
