'tis me....my little one came down with Strep yesterday afternoon, so I've got her home with me today...which I love...I actually love doting on my family when their sick...oh yes...it gets old, but I am a born doter...not sure it's a good thing...doting is on the verge of spoiling...but it's OK once in a while...according to Dr. Mama. Sierra didn't miss hearing the real doctor prescribe a strict diet of ice cream and Popsicles for the next couple of days...hopefully she's enjoying being sick....I remember being home with my mama when I was sick and there wasn't a better place to be. There are times I still wish she were close enough to dote on me :)
So....how are you all? I hope your kiddos, big and small are all weathering the storm of illness. I have loved reading about the holiday traditions you enjoyed as a child and now with children or grandchildren of your own. One that I can't wait to get started on is that of creating birdseed and peanut butter ornaments to hang in the trees for the birds....Sierra will LOVE this. Thanks so much for sharing, and please feel free to continue to do so.
I have a few things to share tonight....I'm attempting cinnamon rolls yet again, and while the dough is rising I thought I'd pop in for a minute.
It's my day on the Tattered Angels blog....I love their products!
I wanted to use the chipboard frames as tags for the holidays so I matted them with sweet vintage images from Crafty Secrets and dressed them up with Glimmer Glass, tea-stained twill, buttons, gems, and rubons from Melissa Frances.
I wanted to flock the frames just to see what would happen and I loved the results especially with a light dusting of Glimmer Mist on top...it's puffy and soft just like snow....I then added mica flakes on top to add the shimmer.
And then, just for fun, I created a Christmas Journal using more Tattered Angels and Graphic 45...
I'm a sucker for Graphic 45...their papers always remind me of fabric....paper and fabric...mmmmm...
The supplies and a few more details on these two projects are included on the Tattered Angels blog.
Lastly, I am guest blogging HERE this week:
I will be posting projects throughout the week using SEI's Christmas Mint and Alpine Frost lines..they are YUMMERS....and sadly, I have to talk about myself a bit too....I'm apologizing now, dear, fellow blog readers.....I'm a bore....I admit it....but there I go again, talking about myself.
How about a project peek for you...
You can see more on the SEI Lifestyle blog.
Hope you have a great Tuesday...Happy, happy Veteran's Day tomorrow....I love my sweet US of A and all those who continue to fight for our freedom and defend what we love and hold dear.
Melis

I'm so sorry Sierra is under the weather, it might take a L-O-N-G time for her to get well if she's getting the royal treatment from you! (know what I mean? - just that who would want to get over it?!)
My DD is sick, too, but recovering without my help. My DD is 24 years old and lives 3,000 miles away from me. So sad!
So, give your precious a hug and let her soak in your love.
Your artwork is awesome - I'm off now to check out the guest blogging you're doing!

One of the things I love most about your creations are the colors you use. I am very color-oriented and soft pastels always make my heart pound faster, especially pink! I love the paper cones featured today; everything you do is eye candy.
Not only do I enjoy reading your comments but enjoy the posts as well...alot of humor out there (and this is the only site where I read the comments).
Have said a prayer the little bean will get better; what a wonderful mom she has!

Melissa, I don't think you should ever think you bore your readers. I personally love to hear your tales of your daughter. It reminds me of when my kids were little. I love your blog...and especially your creativity. You are so talented and I am grateful to you for sharing.
Thanks!

So sorry to hear of your little ones strep throat. Hope she enjoys her ice cream & yummies & can swallow with no problems.
I don't think you're boring at all! I love it when bloggers share their own life experiences & families. I'm a new follower & I love your style. I have saved many of your crafts for future inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing your talents.
I absolutely love your Christmas tags! They are oh so yummy! Each one is a delight.

I'm sorry your little one is under the weather. I'm sure she'll be well in no time though - with all your doting :)
It's your blog, you should totally talk about yourself - I'm sure we're all interested!
Now...what about those pics of your new craft room?
I for one am desperate to see them!
Love your blog so much.

I missed this post because I am knee deep in sickness over here. Fancy doing a mission of mercy with some ice-cream? I promise we will have high tea :-), scones with homemade raspberry jam and cream and real butter, hot out of the oven. Mmmmm. They are the Avoca scones on page 143 of the Avoca Cafe Cookbook. If you do NOTHING else this next two weeks, you HAVE to make these! I also add a 1/2 a cup or one whole cup of sultanas or raisins. It's a prefect recipe for tea parties with Miss S when she gets better. Sending you hugs, hoping you get through it and Miss S gets better soon :-)
