So much to catch up on...so happy to be home, but so very honored to have been asked to attend and teach at Kim Caldwell's Artistic Affaire....I found myself blinking and trying to clear the beautiful haze from my mind as I sat in the midst of so many talented artists and women. I still can't believe this little country girl was there...thank you from the bottom of my heart Kim, for inviting me.
I have a few pictures to share...but I haven't edited them yet. I don't have too many of the event as I handed off my camera to my husband through most of my stay in California and he and Sierra took care of taking pictures of the fun things they did while I was having fun teaching...I didn't want to miss out...so stay tuned for some beautiful photos soon.
The highlight of the weekend for me was meeting and getting to know Kim Caldwell...she has such a magical way about her...the ability to manage and balance oodles of things all, at the same time....to think about the tiniest, most beautiful details, all the while making all 50 or so of us feel like we were the most important person in the room...she is a sweetheart and truly so genuine...I'll miss her. If you haven't had a chance to shop her boutique...you just have to...she works shabby, wonderful magic with fabric and florals.
Another highlight was meeting and visiting with Jenny Doh...she has to be the most adorable, tiny, sophisticated, down-to-earth, and lovely woman I have every met. She is fascinating to listen to...and has the ability to put you at ease in an instant...it was such a treat to meet her and listen to her heartfelt speech....talk about inspiring! She is a beautiful soul.
A special treat for me was getting to take the other teacher's classes....so while there, I learned to bead from the very talented Holly Stinnett, sculpt from the amazing and sweet Jenny Hernandez, and for a moment take a peek into the creative mind of Julie Haymaker Thompson...she is adorable and has the wonderful gift of making you feel like you're her best friend...all three were so lovely and welcoming...I appreciate and admire each of them.
I've just completed somewhere around my 250th or so project for CHA...everything mailed, and my heart is singing....so happy to breathe a little easier and enjoy the last 26 days with my little bean before she heads off to be a big 2nd grader....I already miss her...but she is counting down the days, so I'll be happy for her. Both of her tiny, bottom, middle teeth are wiggling now...I can only imagine how darling she'll be with a lisp and sweet gap there.
I've neglected to share my Papertrey Ink new release projects with you...and I'd just feel horrible if I didn't enable you in some way to spoil yourself with a stampy treat...so I'll get started.
This card uses Betsy Veldman's new stamp set called Just the Ticket, the coordinating die, and the Spiral Notebook Page die.
This card uses the new Library Card and Fillable Frames #6 sets along with the coordinating Fillable Frames #6 die.
The It's Official stamp set was used on this card along with the Library Pocket and XL Rick Rack Border dies.
The School Time and Additions stamps were used on this card along with the XL Rick Rack border die and the Spiral Notebook Page die.
And lastly, the Birthday Bash Sentiments set was used on this card...so many fun sentiments perfect for birthdays at any age....I love this set.
If you haven't been to Emma's Paperie lately, there are oodles of projects there for you...I'll post some tomorrow...there's a sale going on there too.
The first card uses Papertrey Ink's All About You Additions stamp set, Simply Chartreuse ink, and Spring Moss buttons. The scrunched seam binding is from This Good Day.
Have a toasty day :)
Melis

Seriously, only 26 days left before school starts? You have to be in a state that has the shortest summer, bummer. although 2nd grade was still at the fun level. Feels good to be home doesn't it?

Melis, ive got a question for you, When packing embellishments on to the front of cards, how do you stop the finished card from falling over from the weight?

for all those people that plan to purchase a pair of those sunglasses, make particular that those people below your faces completely and obviously reflects your existence style collection. They are properly suited for the Armani sunglasses using the outfits you founded on most in the time course. whether or not metal or plastic material ones, you can perform totally practically nothing incorrect with Oakley Limited Editions .
