Thank goodness for buttons...I have loved them since I was tiny and remember sitting on the floor sorting through my mother's button tin while she was sewing something pretty or mending something that needed her love and attention. The button tin had a special smell to it and I found new treasures every time it was opened.
This month the Sr. Design Team challenge at Papertrey Ink is to use any of the Button Bits stamp sets. I love each of these sets and couldn't settle on just one, so I've used images or sentiments from each of them and combined my love of buttons with that of glitter and felt.
This first card uses an image from the Baby Button Bits stamp set and a sentiment from the Everyday Button Bits stamp set. I used the Banner Builder stamp set on each card as well.
The Movers & Shakers: Poppers die got a work out on these projects as I used it and Harvest Gold felt to create little roses to embellish the images along with Sweet Blush buttons.
Each card also uses Sweet Blush cardstock, Vintage Cream Grosgrain, Aqua Mist, Spring Moss, Harvest Gold, and Classic Kraft ink. This card uses an image and sentiment from the Everyday Button Bits set.
Lastly, an image from the Baby Button Bits set was used here along with a sentiment from the Bloomin' Button Bits set. I enhanced each image using Prisma glitter and each image is matted on a die cut with the Limitless Layers 2 1/4" circles....love these sweet dies.
The other Sr. Design Team members have projects to share with you as well:
*Betsy Veldman
*Maile Belles
*Dawn McVey
*Heather Nichols
Thank you so much for stopping by.

These are so pretty. I love the combination of buttons and ribbon and a bit of glitter! My mom still uses her old metal sewing basket that still contains the old sewing needle cards and lots of random buttons.

I admire your work Melissa, but it's not something I could ever do! So many details incorporated in your cards and projects, really fun to look at!!

Lovely cards, Melissa. I have a hard time using a colored background for my card base - it's usually white or cream - so it was nice to see you create something with Sweet Blush. Looks like it can be done! ;)

I didn't think it was possible for me to love the Button Bits line any more than I already do, but you did it. You made me love it even MORE! Your post is amazing, Melissa! I just love how you incorporated the felt on your designs. I have yet to use the bicycle image, and I am so in love with how you used it here...and that BEE and the PEA POD??!! Swoooooon! :)

So so SO pretty... I love your rolled flowers, and all the ways you dressed up the button images - I have the baby set, and it always ends up being such a clean project for me - I love seeing how you made them super vintage and shabby!

I'm running out of words to express how delightful your things are - these are so sweet. And, I have the same button tin memories as you. What a special time it was to spend going thru the buttons while my Mom sewed. I miss it so. Thanks!

I have a ton of antique buttons, my mother was a dress designer many years ago and I have all her buttons! I am going to go to my new room from backyardrooms.com and start some projects using my buttons. Thanks for a great idea and a great way to utilize those buttons!
