Just popping in before bed tonight to share a couple of juicy, fruity, happy, playful cards. This first was created for Emma's Paperie and is based on a photo I love from Pinterest.
I have a complete supply list HERE for you.
This card was made with my little birthday girl in mind. It uses October Afternoon's Cakewalk collection, Basic Grey Paper Cottage chipboard, Studio Calico dies, and Freckled Fawn washi tapes.
I used the following washi tapes to created the banner on this card:
White Seedling on Pink
And, before I go...a new to me poem that I can't get out of my mind...love every last word of this...
S L O W D A N C E:
Have you ever watched kids
on a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down
Don’t dance so fast
Time is short
The music won’t last
Do you run through each day
On the fly
When you ask “How are you?”
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done,
do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
running through your head?
You’d better slow down
Don’t dance so fast
Time is short
The music won’t last
Ever told your child,
We’ll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
‘Cause you never had time
To call and say “Hi”?
You’d better slow down
Don’t dance so fast
Time is short
The music won’t last
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift….Thrown away…
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

Night,
Melis

Love this poem. Luckily I have a mum that says "We'll do it tomorrow' all the time while refering to laundry, cleaning the house or some other chore that gets in the way of our fun.
And, yet, the house and laundry always seem to get clean.

Love the poem - it is sad that we need to remind ourselves to slow down, enjoy the day and the rest can wait, it is a lesson that should not be so hard to learn. Love your cards, so beautiful. I love to look at the layers and details you add, so love you work. It is a reflection of the beauty you hold. Thanks for sharing with us all!

Your cards are so adorable and fun! The poem is so beautiful and as I age it seems to be a message I hear more often and from many sources...it is so great that such a young woman like you is listening now! Thanks for sharing both!
