Good morning, December is here, are you ready for it? I am bound and determined to not let myself get caught up in the worldliness that comes with this time of year, the hustle bustle, the stress, the never-ending list of to-dos. There is just so much more to the Christmas season and my tired, little soul needs to feel the happiness, joy, and light that is there for all to receive...that is my never-ending quest anyway :). And, with my little side-kick in tow, I want to be sure my focus is where it needs to be instead of on the unimportant stuff. Children are great teachers, aren't they?
The Papertrey Ink Sr. Team challenge this month is to revisit the Bells & Boughs stamp set and it's such a beauty! The images remind me of a lovely, vintage postcard, with timeless tales to tell. For my card today, I used soft colors, vellum, white, and Kraft, with just a tiny pop of red. I used Papertrey Ink's Cover Plate: Center Stage die, layered over vellum and sheet music. I attached a simple sentiment across the bottom of my card which was cut using the One Liners die.
I then created a little cluster of embellishments, stamps, and dies using the Bells & Boughs set and coordinating dies layered over vellum and white die cut Fancy Flakes, layered over a Stitched Snowflake cut from silver paper.
I used lovely bough and berry images from Bells & Boughs and stamped them in Aqua Mist and Pure Poppy. The sentiment, also from this set, was stamped in True Black. I used the Wonderful Words: Joy die to create a focal point for my tag, and embellished it with an Aqua Mist Button.
Giving is my most favorite part of this wonderful time of year, so dressing up packages to make the recipient feel even more special is just icing on the cake.
