I used to get really sad as I'd look back on photos of my little girl, pictures of when she was a tiny baby, then a darling toddler, photos of her on her first day of Kindergarten, etc. I'm trying my best now though, to not be sad that she is no longer that little, tiny, being, but to enjoy the amazing, wondrous, girl she is becoming. To watch her personality shine through, her tastes, gifts, skills, desires, etc. I find happiness in that.
Now we focus on encouraging her, helping her to see all of her wonderful, magical, special, and unique ways, to help her know she is a daughter of God, so that she'll be strong enough spiritually to weather the storms that must come, that will come, and that are essential for her growth. Storms that will shape her into just who she has the potential to be. To help her recognize the love that her Heavenly Father has for her, which love is found all around her. I'm so thankful for her.
Enjoy your day.
