I love Saturdays. They are most often quite uneventful here with lots of tidying up, ironing, lesson preparing, and always a bit of movie watching with popcorn, blankets, and a fire going. Maybe even a nap...crossing my fingers :). Oh, and I'm anxiously waiting for my Cafe Rio salad that my husband is bringing me, as he has been out of town and is passing through the big city. Simple delights, I tell you.
I couldn't quite put away my Doodlie-do stamp set from Papertrey Ink...I wanted to try another paper-pieced bloom in different colors, and for some reason, I find the tedious process of cutting out those tiny detailed images, very relaxing. So, I bet you'll be seeing more and more of this technique and stamp set. It's too cute to put away so soon.
I love the sweet sentiments included, especially this one. It just about sums everything up, doesn't it?
I combined some Raspberry Fizz buttons with patterned paper from Basic Grey, My Mind's Eye, Studio Calico, Crate Paper, and American Crafts, pink sequins from My Craft Spot, and a bit of vintage trim.
And, before I go, I was asked by a special customer to create a birthday gift for someone very dear to her, and this is what I came up with.
Kaisercraft has the sweetest collection out called Tea Break and I love the die cut sentiments and quotes included. They were perfect additions to add to the sides of this cottage along with Crate Paper chipboard, American Crafts paper, vintage book print, Maya Road organza flowers, etc.
I found this quote the other day on smittenby.net and it struck a cord in my heart, something I wish I could remember more often when things are rough, or when things hurt, when explaining things to my little one, when not being as patient as I should with my own and other's shortcomings.
Thinking of you today.
