Hello friends! I hope you've had a wonderful weekend. I'm happy to welcome in a new week and have a fun project or two to get us off on the right foot. It's my turn for another Papertrey Ink Make it Monday tutorial and I chose to focus on using my dies in creative ways and also playing with color a bit using the Rosie Posie Step 2 stamp set.
I used the Limitless Layers: 2 1/4" Hearts die collection to cut a window from one layer of my card front, and create a frame from a second layer.
I then created a screen behind my heart shaped window using the Cover Plate: Twist die. I needed a bit of inspiration when it came to my posies and their coloring, so I turned to this next photo to push me in the right direction. For me, I always struggle a bit with 2-step stamping and learning how to get the proper shading from light to dark as well as understanding what colors will blend well together. Photos help me so much in this area.
I chose to stamp my first layer in Melon Berry and my second layer in Berry Sorbet and love how these colors worked together for this card. As well as Rosie Posie Step 2, I also used The Best is Yet to Be and Bigger Blooms.
This card was so much fun for me to create, that I decided I wanted to see what it would look like using different color combinations.
I love a mix of reds, berries, and creams. I used the same dies and stamps on this card aside from using the Friendship Jar Spring Fillers for my sentiment.
I used Hibiscus Burst for my first posy layer, and Pure Poppy for my second layer. Just delicious.
I turned to this photo for my color inspiration, also found on Pinterest.
Bigger Blooms was used again here on this card for my sentiment and smaller flowers.
And lastly, this final card was based on the lovely colors found in this photo...it's always been a favorite of mine and I have wanted to put it to use somehow.
The sentiment used here is from the Love Lives Here stamp set.
And I decided to try the Cover Plate: Hearts for my screen and love the whimsy it adds.
Thanks so much for visiting. You can see my tutorial here for a complete step-by-step instructions, including bloopers :)...I aim to please, ha.
