Happy, Happy July! I love this month...it's my brother's birthday month (Happy Birthday Scot...he's 4 years and 1 day older than me), and my birthday month, and of course there's Independence Day, and watermelon, and corn on the cob, and endless sunshine, and sunflowers, and my mom's homemade chocolate birthday cake, and my list goes on and on :).
The Papertrey Ink Sr. Design Team members are revisiting the Super Stars stamp set this month and it couldn't be more suitable for this time of year...as can be seen in my second card today. My first card uses the Super Stars stamp set in conjunction with a stencil from the MIM Mini Kit: Sunshine & Rainbows.
After sponging on my color over my stencil, I added water, let it dry, and then stamped my fun curvy sentiment and stars to follow the sun rays from the stencil. I used Aqua Mist, Harvest Gold, Mint Julep, Orange Zest, and Berry Sorbet ink. I then created a focal point by using two of the stars from the Super Stars stamp set layered one on top of the other and then added my sentiment on a die cut Tremendous Tag stamping in Berry Sorbet ink. My patterned paper is from the Chicken Scratch Gingham pack and my border across the bottom uses the BE Happy die and Mint Julep cardstock.
And because I love the 4th of July, I just couldn't pass up using this set to create a card celebrating this day! I used the fun, curvy dots image from the Super Stars stamp set to create the stripes for my flag, stamping in Pure Poppy, Spring Rain, and Fine Linen.
I used the Keep it Simple: Bless the USA for my sentiment, stamping it on a Double Ended Banners die in Enchanted Evening ink. My stamped Super Star images in the corner of my flag were stamped in Enchanted Evening and Spring Rain. They are layered over a block of Pencil Me In paper cut using the Moments Inked: Basic Pages die.
Happy 4th of July to you! Thanks for visiting.
