It's a beautiful, Spring afternoon...it's quiet and peaceful, our tummies are full of roast beef and mashed potatoes, and we're ready to snooze and put our feet up here. I need to bake a Sunday treat as I do every Sunday....it's tradition. Daddy and Sierra have flown her new kite this afternoon, we've been to church and I heard the most wonderful talk on provident living t...many things that were said rang true and the messages sank into my heart and I came home feeling so uplifted and ready to make new goals for myself...and for us as a family. I firmly believe that there is incredible safety in living providently...and safety brings happiness, joy, and beauty.
My little bean and I had such a fun day together yesterday...we set out on a little road trip to find Grandma....take her shopping....and enjoy lunch together at the park while Sierra played....it was warm, blossoms were everywhere, people were out together playing Frisbee, soccer, football, taking walks, and smiling...as were we. I bought my mom the most beautiful set of shabby, crackled, aqua canisters...they made her smile, and when she smiles, so does my heart.
Sierra had hot dogs, popcorn, a balloon, a chocolate frosty....I let her pick out a treat to reward her for a wonderful report card...I love any excuse to spoil her....sigh...
I found these sweet, German Easter scraps at Memrie Mare's etsy shop and enjoyed every moment of clipping them apart and creating a few spring time cards....I've never seen such sweet images.
I used some of my favorite spring-ish Papertrey Ink stamp sets for my sentiments on these cards including: Egg Hunt, Tags for Spring, and Take Three Spring stamp set. I also used Spring Moss cardstock,Lavender Moon and Ocean Tides ink, and vintage buttons in Aqua Mist and Spring Moss.
I'll have these up in my etsy shop in a few hours....just in time for Easter.
She's reading "Are You My Mother" to her daddy right now...the very book that he read to his daddy when he was little...it's torn and has his drawings throughout...but continues to be one of most loved books here at home. She memorized it when she was just tiny and I still remember her reading it to my mom when she was bitty....motherhood is so sweet.
I'm off to enjoy my family, but wanted to record a snippet of the talk I heard today...I hope it helps you as it has me...something to continually work towards and remind ourselves of from time to time.
"To provide providently, we must practice the principles of provident living: joyfully living within our means, being content with what we have, avoiding excessive debt, and diligently saving and preparing for rainy-day emergencies. These two lessons are the essence of provident living." Robert D. Hales
Thank you to my friend Kendra for sharing this talk with us today...I'm sure you touched many lives.
Sweet, sweet Sunday.
Melis
