I'm happy to be joining in on the Papertrey Ink group post this month....it's always so much fun for me to be inspired and challenged to think of creative uses for Papertrey Ink stamps...I love them so. This month is certainly no different....I am crazy for Heather's new stamp set called Mini Scrapbook Series: Tabs...it will be available to purchase on the 15th of March.
I was challenged to use the tabs on a scrapbook related project...I LOVE creating pages all about the loves in my life...I can't even begin to tell you how much it means to me to look at this little bean of mine, everything I love about her captured in a single photo, and reminisce, remember, dream, hope, wish, and fall even more in love with her. It's sweetness for the soul I tell you.
For this page, I used the tabs as a scalloped border down the page...I stamped each tab with phrases and words found in the stamp set that I felt were fitting for this particular picture and stage in life....then I glittered them to dress them up and make them stand out a bit more.
I used my favorite Papertrey Ink colors here...Sweet Blush, Aqua Mist, and Spring Moss...they are so soft and lovely and always compliment the Melissa Frances paper and accents I love to use so often.
I stamped the bottom of the envelope using the Simple Alphabet set and Smokey Shadow ink...it reads, "silver in the sky"...a phrase from a song that reminds me of my little girl, her fascination with the stars...all that she is deserving of...the wonderful, good things that are waiting for her in this life and in the next. I love incorporating hidden journaling on my layouts and mini albums...I think of these little packages as gifts that one day she'll enjoy opening and reading over and over again.
All of the Papertrey Ink designers have created special projects for you using this stamp set...here are links to their blogs...I can't wait to have a peek myself:
Nichole Heady, Betsy Veldman, Dawn McVey, Debbie Olson, Heather Nichols, Lisa Johnson, Mish Wooderson, Niki Estes, Kim Hughes, Maile Belles, and Erin Lincoln.
Lastly, here are a couple of recipes for you all....enjoy.
Orange Julius
6 oz. frozen Orange Juice concentrate
1 cup milk
1 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
8-9 ice cubes (I throw in a bunch though as I like mine crunchy)
Blend all together in your blender and drink up.
Homemade Oreo Cookies with Chocolate Cream Cheese filling
2 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
1 1/2 c. shortening
4 eggs
This is just absolutely lovely, Melissa! I love how you glittered the tabs. I need to get back into scrapbooking. I think I will only do mini albums or 8x8.
Have a great day!

So incredibly pretty! As ALWAYS!!! I have a question for you- what do you use to adhere your glitter- and how do you get it to not shed forever? I've been hesitant to use glitter in my scrapbook with it's tendency to glitter everything around it, but I adore the look! I bought some spray fixative today to try- but thought I'd ask the pro!! :)
And THANK YOU for the orange julius recipe- my mouth is watering! (I'm choosing not to even read the oreo recipe! Hehehe!)
Have a great night!

Your scrapbook page simply took my breath away! I love how you glittered the tabs (always love the bling! ;-D), and those burlap flowers are beautiful! What a blessing for your little bean to have her Mother's memorable words captured for her in this layout!
Thank you also for sharing the recipes. I've been wanting to try to make homemade oreos, although I know they won't last long in our home! LOL! The orange julius will be a hit here as well during the warmer days, and I LOVE chunky icy drinks, too! :-D
Have a blessed day, Melis!

Melissa that is not a scrapbook layout - it is a work of art that needs to be on a wall somewhere. Oh it is so breathtakingly beautiful. my curious mind wants to know what is in the envie? is it a sweet note to your daughter? perhaps a memory you both share? whatever it may be it is going to delight her in her adult life. thank you for sharing.
