my loaf of bread...
my roof's safe shelter overhead...
It's been a cozy Sunday thus far...I love Sundays all bundled up together. I'm feeling so thankful for my warm house, food on the table, my little family, my faith, loved ones...even the stinky, noisy chickens...
I'm popping in quickly to invite you all back tomorrow for the 12-Days of Christmas kick-off with my wonderfully talented friend MISH! I love her and still remember stalking her blog faithfully....admiring her recipes, her sketches, the homespun, cozy feel I left with...then, lucky me...I was invited to join the team at Papertrey Ink and now have had the chance of working closely with Mish for a couple of years...she is a dear heart. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us. Meanwhile....I've been sneaking in minutes, late-night hours, and bits of spare time preparing something for you as well....hope to see you soon!
Melis
Because I Have Been Given Much
Because I have been given much, I too must give.
Because of thy great bounty, Lord each day I live.
I shall divide my gifts from thee with every brother that I see,
who has the need of help from me.
Because I have been sheltered, fed by thy good care…
I cannot see another’s lack and I not share-
my glowing fire, my loaf of bread-my roof’s safe shelter over head,
that he too may be comforted.
Because I have been blessed by thy great love dear Lord,
I’ll share thy love again according to thy word.
I shall give love to those in need. I’ll show that love by word and deed,
thus shall my thanks be thanks indeed.

More excitement here! The timing of the poem is so appropriate. It's so true, we who have much need to count our blessings and share them.
