A simple kind of girl....crazy for simple pleasures such as buttons...they have this magical, simplistic quality that I enjoy so much. I love them as they dress up the center of a flower, tied with embroidery floss or button twine, lined up in a row, bunched together in a hug, or tied to the top of a tag. I love that they've been around for ages....there are jars of them in homes where mothers have sewn clothes for their children, mended shirts for their husband, where grandmother's have made dolls for their grandbabies, where they've been aged by the sun as they've hung on a dress on a clothesline...tiny travelers with a story scattered here and there.
My project today was created for a friend in need of a little cheer during a difficult time...my heart goes out to her.
I used the new Melissa Frances 5th Avenue collection on this along with a Melissa Frances chipboard heart, chandelier drop, die cut, resin applique, and rubons.
There are many other cards designed by the Melissa Frances Design Team up on the blog HERE.
My card was inspired of course by one of our Creative Mint challenge photos found HERE. A heart made up of simple, sweet buttons...now to try one made of stamps.
Here a a few things I've been working on and finishing up lately...
A few Little Miss Sierra pincushions...
Sweet Lucille...
And Remember Me Anna Marie...
More to share another day.
Thanks for visiting....
Night.
Melis

I love buttons also. I love to pick up hand fulls from my grammas buttons boxes and watch them run thru my hand. So much history if only they could speak. Your card is beautiful and Im sure your friends' heart will be lifted not only with its beauty but the love that created it.

I saw your heart card over at MF and absolutely love it....the cluster of buttons is so sweet. Those pin cushions are gorgeous little plump bundles of goodness...how delightful they look with those sweet zipper flowers on the front.

Love your work. Miss you when you don't blog every day. One question, where did you find the zippers for the pin cushions?

Oh my oh my; these breathtaking pincushions again; they are to die for. And the same goes for that card. I can hardly wait for those 5th Avenue papers to arrive here in Holland; I know I will be hoarding them :)

The new banner is beautiful. It fits you to a "T". The card is absolutely exquisite. You are so talented and you share your talent so openly. Thank you.

Melissa - just when I begin to think that you couldn't possibly make anything prettier, you go and outdo yourself as you did with these precious cards and pin cushions. I adore all three varieties but if I had to pick one as an all time favorite it would be one called "Little Miss Sierra". Adorable!

I love buttons too, but I love the little story you gave them even more! Thank you so much for the lovely comment you left for me yesterday - and I meant everything I said :)
