I love warm, fresh from the oven, bread, with butter all melty on the top...
(via rags and tatters)
I love bedtime stories...
Tonight's card uses Papertrey Ink's Background Basics: Newsprint and Tiny Tags, Melissa Frances resin applique, and a Birds and Blossoms Creative Scrap from Crafty Secrets. Pretty Peony cabbage rose ribbon from memriemare.
A few have asked for Sierra's cookie recipe...feel free to add some Mtn. Dew if you'd like...for a little zing or somethin'.
Lilybean's Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup shortening
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
Oodles of chocolate chips...the more the merrier...I use Ghiradelli 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate Chips.
**Cream shortening and sugars. Add in vanilla and eggs. Cream thoroughly. Add in flour, baking soda, and salt. Combine and at this point, I add in about 2 Tbs. milk...just until the dough gets a bit gooey and sticks to the sides of the bowl. Throw in those chocolate chips...eat a few...give some to your helper...and then add some raisins! Ohhhh....all of you non-raisin lovers....they are like candy all warm and plump from the oven....we love them here...but you can ignore them if you choose.
Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
Get yourself a big old glass of milk, maybe put on your stretchy pants so you can eat three, and get after it!
Night.
Melis
Sounds great! I will have to try this recipe over the weekend. It will be something to look forward to, thanks for sharing.

that's the recipe I use too- just made some today with my little sweet pea's help! (I use a tad more flour for my 2 xl eggs, and cook at 355 for 11 min- but otherwise, I suspect we taste a very similar bit of heaven!)
love your pretty pics & lovely card!!

Chocolate chip cookies are my biggest weakness! And I agree on the more chips the merrier....this afternoon my son wanted to make old fashioned peanut butter one's so at least I am not as tempted...love your card and your whole blog! Thanks for all the continuous inspiration! I didn't make any cards today because I was in the garden pulling weeds and planting spring pansies - my very favorite flower of all time! I call them my happy flowers! Happy Spring!

I wish my hubby would let me have a kitchen like that - he just doesn't get retro/vintage/shabby! You quoted my favourite bedtime story :)

And I love your blog, for every time I visit I learn something and feel good when I leave. I have fallen in love with the vintage style thanks to you. Each time you write of your day, I have always wished to live it. I love the old fashioned days and ways. I'm so happy to say that soon I will have my own old fashioned home (1830 to be exact) and baby chicks and gardens to tend and sun to shine in big, beautiful windows. Thanks for you aspiring words, pictures and talent and for your generosity in sharing. Have a great day!
