Something fresh and juicy tonight, created for the Emma's Paperie blog and based on a sketch you can find there, which I found so much fun to interpret.
I've found a new favorite ribbon from May Arts that I just love. It creates the fullest bows and Emma's Paperie has a whole selection of colors and styles.
All of the supplies can be found on the Emma's Paperie blog.
I'm getting ready to make Morning Glory Muffins. They sound so good to me with coconut, carrots, and apples...I can't wait to see how they smell while baking.
And, I've got The Pioneer Woman's Chicken Tortilla Soup cooking. I'm a PW junkie through and through and have loved everything I've tried. Have you tried any of her recipes? If so, which are your favorites? So far I've tried her Sour Cream Noodle Bake, My Favorite Meatloaf, and Beef and Bean Burritos....mmmm, I love her.
Hope your day has been a good one!
Melis
P.S. Sharing my most favorite read with you...it's completely mesmerizing and enchanting. Kate Morton is amazing. The book is called The Forgotten Garden...you'll love it.
Lovely card! I am also a PW junkie-try the her pound cake and my DH loves both of the MM sandwiches. I read that book a while back and LOVED it. I also would recomend Water for Elephants and the the help. Thanks for sharing!!!

If I tell you my favourite recipes you will think (perhaps correctly) that I only bake rather than cooking. Anyway, I love her chocolate sheet cake and her brownies with icing as thick as the brownies themselves!
Lovely card Melissa.
Oh, and, I have looked several times at that book and have never picked it up but now I have another reason to put it on my list. Thank you.

Your card is beautiful! I love the bright happy colors! PW is my favorite. I have tried a lot of her recipes, they are All so good. I usually make one or two of her things (at least) a week. My kids always ask, is this PW- if the dish is good :) The Forgotten Garden is on my list to read. Have a good weekend.

Beautiful card! I'm a subscriber to your blog and love your vintage shabby chic style, it's wonderful. I've never tried the PW recipes but the recipes you listed sound delicious. The Forgotten Garden is one of my favorite books as well, although I was disappointed when I read The Distant hours after loving TFG. If you're a reader and interested, I joined the online book site Goodreads and have found some excellent books, great reviews and book loving friends. PS another favorite for me is the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. You won't be disappointed.

Dear My Melissa - I adore your card! ADORE it, I tell you! My DH cooks PW's recipes all the time. I pick the ones that interest me, then I email them to him. When I get home from work, I usually find that he's made that particularly dish for me. Thank you for the reading recommendation - I'll have to find that book.
Hugs!

Gorgeous, gorgeous card. Love those bright colours. My fav recipe of the Pioneer Woman is her olive bread. I've got that same book and have it in my upcoming pile. Right now, I'm reading The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo.

Love Kate Morton and The Forgotten Garden......spellbinding! I haven't read any of her other books yet but they're on my list. Any other good suggestions? Maybe you should start a monthly "book recommendation".
