Welcome to the second Papertrey Ink group post of September. The new Holiday Photo Finishers stamp set is so much fun to use. The idea behind it is to combine paper-crafting/stamping with handmade photo cards. I will admit to being a bit nervous when it came to stamping directly onto my photo and then heat embossing the image...not knowing for sure what the heat would do to the photo, but now after trying it once, LOVE the way it looks and can't wait to try it again and again. The stamping just adds so much personality and character.
I used VersaMark Watermark ink on my photo and then embossed it using my new favorite embossing powder, Filigree Silver.
I took this photo of my little girl not too long ago, shortly after her Mutton Bustin' incident, so you can catch a tiny peek what remains of her shiner. She's her daddy's tough little cowgirl.
A tiny flourish at the bottom was added to balance out my holiday card.
I created a coordinating ornament that could be given with the card. The Photo Finish Strips die collection are a must have as well. They can be used in so many ways. For this project I chose to wrap it around the base of my ornament to create a simple way to present the gift to someone and personalize it. Once again, I stamped the image with VersaMark Watermark ink and embossed with Silver embossing powder. Kraft and silver are another new favorite of mine.
One more peek at the sweet, new Holly Jolly die collection that coordinates with the Holly Jolly stamp set. I could use this die on all of my holiday projects. The leaves are cut from Simply Chartreuse felt. The fabric is by Moda and has been soaked in tea to stain and age it a bit. The rusty jingle bell can be found at Frost it Pink.
Thanks for stopping by. I can't believe tomorrow night is release night. This has truly been one of my most favorite releases yet.

Love the silver embossing! It is just so pretty - and on kraft too! Love the little christmas cottage you made too! So charming and homey! I need to try this one of these days...I am always so intimidated by sewing as I don't have a machine...but maybe I could try something simple by hand with some pti felt....hmmm...thanks for the inspiration and your beautiful blog!

Oh, how perfectly adorable this card and ornament are! The embossing is just the right touch. I think I should invest in a die-cutting machine. Love how you used the die. The photo is sweet, too!

These are just fabulous! I especially love the bell holly berry and the stitches on the felt holly leaves!
I have a question about embossing on photos... Is that a "store-printed" photo or a "home-printed" photo? I'm really nervous about applying heat to a photo but love the effect!

You did it to me again, Melissa. I just placed a huge order with PTI for the new Christmas stuff. I also found the mini paper mache boxes on EBay. The PTI snowflake die is already out of stock. I wish I knew someone who would trade me one of my antique floral frogs for the snowflake die set. Well, I guess I'll have to go on a waiting list. I just LOVE it all. Thanks again for more inspiration.
Hugs and Blessings to You,
Karen
