Papertrey Ink has some of the sweetest new products coming out this month. Today we are highlighting the new Get a Handle On It dies, Birthday Style stamp set, and To You From Me stamp set...plenty of fun things to cover you in the areas of gift-wrap and celebrating birthdays and other occasions. I'll start off with my gift package using the new Get a Handle On It dies which can be used in a variety of ways to add decorative handles to a variety of different things, including bags, boxes, pre-packaged food items, etc...
I went a very inexpensive route with my gift wrap today starting with a page torn from an old book and folded in half. Next came a layer of glassine cut the same width as the book page and also folded in half to fit right over the first layer.
Before adhering the glassine layer though, I stamped it with images from Maile's new Birthday Style stamp set. Each was stamped using watermark ink and embossed with white, silver, Zing Blush, and Zing Brown Sugar embossing powders, then embellished with a few adhesive pearls. I then adhered the glassine to the book page only on the sides leaving the top open in order to add some sequins in between the layers. I then stitched the sides up and added my handle cut from Sweet Blush Polka Dot paper using the new Get a Handle On It die.
I used another new die, which you'll be learning more about today on Nichole's blog, and created a banner to fit down the center of my handle and then stamped it using images from the To You From Me stamp set. The sentiment was embossed in silver with the image embossed in white. Next came layered flowers cut from Classic Kraft and Vintage Cream felt, burlap, and patterned paper using the Notched Flowers, Flower Fusion #3, and the Beautiful Blooms II #3 dies.
My card uses the sweetest balloon images and dies, found in Maile's Birthday Style stamp and die sets...I love the tiny details in this set like the bows. I used patterned paper for the balloon and bows and stamped the bows using Classic Kraft ink. The stamped balloon is a combination of Aqua Mist and Spring Moss...turns out kind of minty. I used sentiments from the new Stylish Sentiments: Birthday stamp set and they are also stamped in Aqua Mist and Spring Moss.
One product I am love, love, loving on, is the new Quick Stitch Sentiments die collection. Oh, it's such a fun new product....a bit addicting. You can see it in action here across the bottom of my card.
I used the Mat Stack 4 and Layerz Mat Stack 4 to form my focal point and base for my balloons and embellished the corners with images from the To You From Me stamp set using Zing Blush and Zing Brown Sugar. Vintage Cream Grosgrain and a button at the top finished it off and tied it all together.

Your projects today are beautiful! Thank you so much for all the detail you provide in your posts. I now have another use for my glassine bags (cut up and as an accent on my cards, etc.). Love the stitched detail too. This is going to be a hard month to budget out. :-)

Another truly beautiful post Melissa! I love the glassine with the embossed stamping! So soft and elegant and pretty! These new sets and dies are so wonderful for birthdays! Love the embroidery dies! Just so fun! It would be fun to make some small word dies that would fit in the embroidery hoop from the set released a couple months ago too.
Hugs,
Jill

I love stopping by your blog Melissa. I always come away with something new I would like to try. My eye went right to the layers on your gift wrap with the book page and stamped glassine. Love all the layers. That's my favorite things about all your projects, all the beautiful layers and layers of texture and color. I especially love your flowers. All the different sizes and from many different sets. Another gorgeous project.

Oh Melissa,
Another gorgeous display, said it before, don't know how you do it. Yet again, instead of going to work, I want to start creating now once I visit you and see what's on the menu!!!!
But had better venture out, there's always the weekend to read and oh and ah and try to capture some of your magic for myself.
Thank you
