Hello again. You're in for a fun treat today as you hop from blog to blog. The Papertrey Ink designers are showcasing the new Star Gazer and Star Gazer Additions stamp sets and coordinating dies.
I have long had a fascination for the sky above and what it holds. I know that it has no end and continues on forever. Out here in the desert, we haven't any streetlights or city lights to dim the midnight sky, so I love to go out and just look up. The Milky Way Galaxy is as brilliant and bold as you can possibly imagine with constellations blazing brightly. My husband loves the stars and he and I have been pointing out constellations to our little one since she was tiny and love that she can find them on her own now. These two new stamp sets remind me of my two favorite people :).
My first card was so easy to create. I began with White Shimmer cardstock and then cut a layer of Linen Vellum cardstock slightly smaller than the base. To this I stamped the star chart, from the Star Gazer Additions stamp set, with watermark ink and embossed it using White (Superior) and Jeweled Gold (Stampendous) embossing powder by just coating a certain portion of the star chart images with a certain color. I wanted the star chart to be the focus and to shine.
I then sprinkled die cut stars using the coordinating Star Gazer dies diagonally down the card. I used White Shimmer, Copper Shimmer, and Kraft cardstock. My sentiment was stamped on a die cut using the new Boutique Borders: Father die, Kraft cardstock, and embossed in White with the sentiment in True Black. A bit of Freckled Fawn gold star washi and silver buttons and that was it.
I created this next card with my little one in mind as she loves camping and being out in nature just as much as her daddy. I paired the Star Gazer stamp set with a sentiment from the Star Gazer Additions and then added in images from the Summer Camp stamp set.
I created a pink paper-pieced tent for Sierra, added in a couple of sweet sentiments, and accented with Vintage Cream and Simply Chartreuse felt flowers cut using the Flipping Out die.
Across the top I used the new Star Gazer die collection with glitter tape from Freckled Fawn as well as a die cut banner cut using the new Sketched Shapes die and stamped with pink arrows from the coordinating set.
That's it for me. Can't wait to see what the other girls have created for you.
Thanks again for visiting.

Wonderful cards! The first one is a great design and has terrific colors and details. The second, w/the little tent set in the woods, is such a sweet b.d. card. What a clever design and neat double sentiment. Love both cards. :)
