One of my favorite days is coming quickly, Mother's Day. This day means so much to me as each day I thank heaven above for the opportunity I have to be a mother and because I have had the opportunity to be loved by an amazing mother. The gift of belonging to someone is something to be treasured. As I tucked my little one in last night, I talked to her about this, that she belongs and is a part of a family, that home is her soft place to fall, always safe and secure, that she is loved, that she will always be listened to and cherished.
I created this card using many of my favorite Darkroom Door supplies including the following: the Ornate Elements, All Occasions, and Dressmaker rubber stamp sets. I have been inspired by the watercolor technique lately and was given a nudge to try it out and play along with the Moxie Fab World's Wonder of Watercolor Challenge. For this card, I stamped using watermark ink, next I embossed in white, and then added color using ink and my water brush. I loved trying this technique and will most definitely be using it more and more. There are so many other things I'd love to try. You can see many inspiring ideas for yourself at Moxie Fab World's Wonder of Watercolor Challenge.
I added a photo from the Ladies Photobooth collage to the center of my stamped frame after roughing it up and bit to add age.
Just a few embellishments such as a Prima flower, Maya Road chipboard heart, and scrunched seam binding were added to finish it off. It's always so enjoyable creating cards with someone special in mind.
I pulled out a favorite Papery Ink product for this card, the Quick Stitch Sentiments die collection.
"Mom" was stamped using the My Mother, My Friend stamp set, and the sweet tag is from Graphic 45's Secret Garden collection.
And, just for fun, and to keep you caught up on your holiday cards, Festive Friday's challenge is up and waiting for you. Think RETRO with bold reds and aqua blues. I created this card for the challenge there. You still have a few days to play along and have some fun.
My card uses Papertrey Ink's Peace, Love, & Joy stamp set along with some Crate Paper and October Afternoon. I have to say that I love being able to use my Christmas stash of supplies all year long...puts a smile on my face.
Hope your all having a wonderful Tuesday.
Melis
