Good Monday morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Today I have a new Make it Monday tutorial up on the Papertrey Ink blog....AAAAK! Heartburn, I tell you, but I am learning to throw my cares aside when it comes to preparing these videos and just relax a bit, so be gentle will you ,and check it out if you'd like a little step-by-step in my paper piecing technique.
I have a major thing for paper piecing and just love the whole nit-picky process of trimming and fussy-cutting, but mostly of getting to use patterns and color combined to make something sweet and soft.
I used Papertrey Ink's Friends 'Til the End, Flower Fusion #11, and Sew Simple Borders stamp sets to create this little number for you, oh and all of my paper is from the Pretty Pastels paper pad.
And, my friend Janet invited me to be a guest on her blog using her beautiful digital designs. Here is the card I created using the Antique Bookmarks collage. I'm warning you, one step into her etsy shop and you'll be hooked on her lovely, lovely creations.
It seems I can't create without using my felt, trim, and dies. These are simple ways of adding your own unique touch.
And, of course some Raspberry Truffle scrunched seam binding and a lovely cameo applique from Webster's Pages.
Hope your Monday is wonderful! Looking forward to watching a little girl dressed in hot pink baseball socks play some softball tonight :).
Melis

Melissa, I love LOOKING at your beautiful creations, but would never attempt to recreate one of them. . .until now. Your tutorial was WONDERFUL, and I can't wait to pull out my stamps, dies, and paper and get busy paper piecing! THANK YOU for the inspiration.

You know, I just realized that I could get several cards out of these stamped flower, as you only use a few petals of each color for one card. It's almost like mass-producing, and you end up with a bunch of really beautiful cards!

I loved your paper piercing video. I tried to leave a comment and couldn't get past the security words. I did have one question: what was the liquid adhesive that you used to put your project together?

Very nice, paper pieced card! Great shabby colors and the vintage lace trim and cream felt add to the paper-pieced character of the card. Well done. Video is terrific, too. :)

It's beautiful as always! Doing videos can be stressful,I hate the 15 minute time limit on youtube. LOL I don't have an editing program and my ipad does not let me trim the videos most of the time and I end up recording several times to get it right. LOL I'm thrilled that you're showing us how you create your magical cards. Remember to have fun. The more you do the easier it gets. Your card art makes my heart sing. Thanks so much for doing this weeks Make It Monday. I hope I get time to play. I'm daycare for my 11 month old teething, walking grand daughter. =D
