Over the next several days, I will be showing you bits and pieces of a work in progress, a labor of love for a special friend who asked me to make her an album, a book of days of sorts, with a page or pocket for each month in the year. I have pulled out all of my favorites including, vintage items, trinkets, saved projects, favorite pages, elements, etc., and am combining them in one album. One of the things I love about creating albums or mini books, is to mix in all of the things I love including mixing album shapes and pages, such as you'll notice here. So far, I have used a Maya Road chipboard binder, combined with a Maya Road chipboard house book...lots of fun.
This little Tim Holtz knob has been sitting on my craft table for a year or so...too cute to use on just anything, and so, I had to find just the right spot for it and it happened today.
Here's the inside cover, using more sacred items that I collect like a pack rat and hide away greedily. Some of these things you can find at Frost it Pink, and others at Little Pink Studio. The washi tape used in my book can be found at Freckled Fawn. By the way, Freckled Fawn has welcomed back their sweet Oh Deer Me kits once again, yaay!
My January pocket consists of an altered Maya Road Kraft Envelope, dressed up with lovely bits from the Melissa Frances 5th Avenue Sticker Book.
February is all about love and home, so I pulled out a page I made years ago, that I've just been saving and enjoying as it contains so many bits and bobs that I treasure, such as the alphabet tiles and trims, and I decided it was time to send it on it's way and give it a new home.
I'll be sharing other pages with you just as often as I get them done, so stay tuned.
Meanwhile,
I've added a few things to my shop including a few more Crafty Care Packages, and the following:
This little shabby, altered Maya Road chipboard home is dressed up as a gift container or just something fun to use in a craft room or special spot in your home. Inside I've filled it with a few of my favorite crafting supplies.
Just a few of the things you'll find inside. I'm jam packing it and getting over my stingy-ness.
And, a baby album I created for a kit a while back...perfectly gender-neutral.
Anywhoo, sure hope you've all enjoyed a great week.
Thanks for your visit.
Melissa
I am just oooing and ahhing over this album! It is filled with heart. Brings tears to my eyes! Love it and can't wait to see more. I can totally relate to holding on to things waiting for the perfect time to use them or because I love them. That little house of goodies as well as the baby album in your etsy shop are so sweet! What a delight the things you make are@

Hey! I popped over to your shop and I can't see the little house or the baby book. Hmmm. Is it my computer or are they not there as yet? I'll look again tonight. :)

Words cannot describe what I think about your work. Is this what they call a labour of love?
