Hello there. Time again for some beautiful new releases from Papertrey Ink. I am happy to be here with you to introduce you to a lovely new Christmas set designed by Lexi Daly, called Stained Glass. I've created three projects using this set in three different ways. All easy and doable.
This set also comes with a coordinating die collection available to help create frames and dimension. I stared with Kraft cardstock and my Stained Glass dies for this project. I simply added Copics in Brick Beige E31, Anise YG21, and Warm Gray No.3. I did a bit of paper-piecing using patterned cream paper to add in the swaddling clothes for the babe.
I cut a second frame from cream cardstock and coated it along with the star in white glitter. The font used for the sentiments is so beautiful and elegant....perfect for this set. You can catch a peek at another new product coming out this month, the Cover Plate: Snow Drifts die. It is layered over coordinating prints, the upper print being Classic Kraft Bitty Dot paper. I then added a floral accent by using my Christmas Poinsettia die collection, burlap, trim, and Simply Chartreuse felt.
My next card uses vellum and gold embossing powder. I began by die cutting vellum with the Layerz Mat Stack 4 die. I then stamped the image on the vellum using watermark ink, and embossed it using gold embossing powder. I then flipped the image over and added color with my Copics. I found that the color softened a bit by adding it to the back of the vellum vs. the front.
I used the coordinating Stained Glass die cut and wood grain patterned paper to cut a frame for my window, then added a bit of glitter to the areas colored in blue. The sentiment at the top was stamped using Fine Linen ink. I added die cut snowflakes using the Winter Penguin dies and stamped and die cut snowflakes using the Snowflakes Medley stamps and dies.
This is the third image from this set and once again I began by using the coordinating die cuts with vellum. I stamped the image twice, both times using watermark ink. I then embossed one image in silver and one in white.
I used Kraft cardstock and the Tag Sale #5 die, then used the Stained Glass die to cut a window from the tag, I then ran it through my die cut machine and embossed it using the Rustic Burlap Impression Plate. Nest I adhered the vellum stained glass window, embossed in white, inside the window of the tag, then I cut the silver embossed image from the second stained glass image, and adhered it to the center of the tag using dimensional adhesive. I used Pinefeather felt and the Holly Jolly die collection, along with Pure Poppy buttons, to add some color and texture.
Across the bottom I placed a portion of the new Cover Plate: Snow Drifts die and stamped my sentiment using Pine Feather ink. The berries and leaves were stamped using the Love Lives Here: Holiday stamp set.
Be sure to stop by the following blogs to see more projects using new release items from Papertrey Ink, all of which will be available on September 15th, 10PM EST.
Thanks for visiting!
Melissa
