There are things I can't do without when it comes to creating, first and foremost, would be my scraps, paper or the fabric variety. I think I may have hoarding tendencies :), because I keep small little snippets, plenty of them, all of them, just in case...
Today's card uses some of my most favorite snippets, all of them fabric. The new Festive Friday challenge theme is "Stars", and this is what I came up with. I used Darkroom Door's Stitched Christmas Rubber Stamp Set for my sweet, tree images and the stitching around the outside of my card. I added fabric scraps to the center of each tree, and then a bit of machine stitching to create an even more homespun look and feel.
Instead of using paper for my background, I stitched a scrap of muslin to my card base and then added stamped stars using Classic Kraft ink. I topped each tree with a vintage button, and the center tree with a glass glitter star, and a bit of vintage trim. Raspberry Truffle scrunched seam binding from My Craft Spot was the finishing touch added to the top of my card.
So, what do you hoard :) ? I have a long list, all of them craft related. I blame it on my Grandma Thelma and am proud to have inherited this trait from her.
Have a great day.
Melissa
I think I am with you in hoarding tendencies! I save those little scraps, too, just in case! I really love old buttons, lace, ribbons... I love your sweet homespun card--conjures up warm and cozy thoughts.

My very favorite kind of card - sweet, shabby, homespun, vintage-y good! I hoard all kinds of craft supplies. I'm the worst with actual vintage items, in that I keep them for "good" - whenever that is! And I do have lots of paper scraps. I've started to channel them into a few glue books - it's a fun way to use them up and keep them too!

Love, love, love this card, Melissa! As for hoarding, I am so bad hoarding paper! I have so much paper and keep buying more but I'm trying really hard this year to use what I have. I haven't bought any Halloween paper this year. That's a start, right? Not sure I'll be as good with the Christmas paper! I love everything you do and look forward to seeing all your beautiful cards and projects. Thank you for sharing.

Melissa, love your FF 'star' card. So different from all the others. Your style warms the heart with it's beautiful meaningful touches.
I collect just about everything, from fabric to teacups, Christmas ornaments to vintage children's sewing machines. It brings me joy! Especially sharing it with others!

Love those little fabric trees. I hoard patterned paper, I admit it.

I ADORE this one, Melis, it's one of my favourites (but they all are!) <3

FANTASTIC holiday card! Like your design and all the fabric and stitching. Since I don't use fabric much, I'd say I mainly hoard paper. I own more than I'd use in three lifetimes, however, I can't bear to throw away those small pieces. I have "progressed" from saving itsy pieces to no smaller than one inch. Hee! Hey, they can be used with many die-cuts and punches. :D

Hello Melissa, Love your cards and always look at them for inspiration. I keep lots of little things paper, ribbons, material for the day that I'll need to use them. I would love to know if you have a storing system so would be able to find all those pieces when needed. I have divider boxes with a bit of everything but takes too long to go throu. Another inspirational card as always and one that can use the little kept pieces. Katerina

Hooray for Grandmas! Mine taught me to crochet and she was a quilter too! And my other Grandma was a doll collector etc. and I still have some of her tiniest dolls and some of her knitting in my craft room! So I guess my love of all things crafty comes from them! I love your sweet card! :)

Wow, wow, WOW! You never fail to awe and inspire me! This is AMAZING! I, too, hoard leftovers! Fabric, burlap(redundant, I know, but it holds a special place! I even have a Pinterest board called "Burlap, Baby!", paper, embellishments, buttons, etc. Thank you for constantly inspiring! Hug that little Bean!! Hugs to you, as well!

Such a lovely card. You often put on the cutest little tags and they add so much. Could you tell me where to find the script Noel? Yes, I have quite a stash of papers, emblishments and fabrics, but is it really hoarding if it adds joy to your life?
