Just me again, back with the Papertrey Ink City Scene group post. The City Scene stamp set with coordinating dies are so much fun! I've been longing for an Eiffel Tower stamp for a good long while now, so this set appeals to me in more ways than one. I chose to use that very image on my first card, accompanied by the "Merci" sentiment. The Postmarks stamp set pairs very well with the City Scene stamp set I think.
I stamped my Eiffel Tower image twice, once on Rustic Cream cardstock and the second time on my Kraft and Vellum Tag Sale #4 die, both times using watermark ink and Espresso embossing powder.
I used the Double Ended Banners die and silver embossing powder for my sentiment, and white and Espresso embossing powder for the other images on my tag. I finished off my card with a few shabby/vintage touches such as the large flower and scrunched seam binding.
My holiday card uses many images from the City Scene stamp set, all stamped on vellum with watermark ink and embossed in white, Zing Blush, Zing Powder, and silver. I love the soft, serene scene these colors create.
I used the City Scene die cut collection for my trees and the Fancy Flakes die collection for my snowflakes which were coated in mica flakes before adhering.
My sentiment was stamped on two Double Ended Banners dies attached together. A few sequins and Baker's twine finish off my card and add a bit more character and texture.
Can't wait to see what the other designers have created using this set. I know they'll be amazing:
- Dawn McVey
- Betsy Veldman
- Maile Belles
- Laura Bassen
- Cristina Kowalczyk
- Erin Lincoln
- Ashley Cannon Newell
- Heather Nichols
- Danielle Flanders
- Nichole Heady
Thanks for your visit.
Melissa
Fantatic cards, Melis! I love this set. My favorite is the snowy city scape, but they're both so beautiful!

I didn't expect to be wowed today. I knew your cards would be pretty, but your amazing cards are usually with sets that speak to your heart. Something about cities just wouldn't be that set. I was wrong. Your first card is truly luxurious in pure Melis fashion, a mini work of art. Your second card brought me to a place of ethereal enchantment. I am wowed.
PS - Would you please think about doing a MIM video on embossing on vellum?

My goodness, that second card is just beautiful. Love all that softness - so serene and pretty.
