Hi again. Are you ready for more stamping? I LOOOOVE stamping, what can I say. It just makes me happy:). Today's Papertrey Ink group post focuses on the new Inside & Out: Get Well Wishes stamp set and it's a sweet one with such thoughtful and sincere sentiments...they kind of have me thinking of stamping for many more occasions than those that I think of regularly and that's a wonderful thing.
One thing we have been encouraged to do this month, is to turn to our older stamp sets and use them with the wonderful new sentiment sets that are available this month and I have to tell you how much fun that has been for me. My first card uses the My Punny Valentine set...I just love that pie, and nothing speaks of comfort, love, and friendship, more to me than a homemade pie. Not too many months ago, my neighbor baked me a fresh Strawberry Rhubarb pie and I can't begin to tell you how touched I was. It was a simple gesture, but made me feel so loved and when I began creating my first card with the sentiment you see, I thought of that pie and had to stamp it. The sentiment is stamped in Dark Chocolate with the pie stamped in Classic Kraft, Aqua Mist, and Pure Poppy.
I framed in my pie using the Garden Variety II stamp set and coordinating die. It is cut from Kraft Cardstock, embossed in white, and stamped using Pure Poppy.
Across the bottom I stamped a second sentiment from the set on a die cut Tiny Tag. I also used the new Strip Stitch die to add a bit of a homespun feel.
We were also asked to create a masculine card using this new set, so brace yourself...I tried my best to create something manly:).
Along with the Inside & Out: Get Well Wishes set, I used the Masculine Motifs set...it's so beautiful, in a manly way, ha. I stamped my sentiment and images on Ocean Tides cardstock die cut using the Spiral Notebook Page die. I tried Betsy's chalkboard technique by embossing using white embossing powder and smudging a bit of Fresh Snow ink across the sentiment and surface area. The trees are embossed using Zing Brown Sugar.
I used the new Background Basics: Needlepoint set across the top of the Kraft cardstock and stamped it using Classic Kraft ink.
And then, because I was really loving the whole masculine thing, I carried on into the inside of the card and added another sentiment to go along with the theme of the card.
I'm looking forward to seeing what the other design team members have created using this new set. You can visit their blogs below:

Really beautiful cards, Melissa! So loving the warm homespun feel to the first card. The die cut frame and cozy stitching at the bottom melt my heart. And you totally nailed the masculine design on your second. Love the chalkboard technique done in a different color. I love the black chalkboard look, but how cool to see it done in other colors, too!

What a set of beautiful cards, Melis! I can just feel the warm feelings on the first one with the pie. I always have trouble with masculine cards, so I love what you did with the next two. I think they are perfect!

Melissa this is such a lovely post. My husband Stuart LOVED pie and was always so excited when someone brought pie to him either in celebration or when he was ill. Your first card just spoke right to my heart when I saw that sweet pie image and read about your neighbor bringing strawberry-rhubarb pie over just because! How lovely! And your masculine card is such a great color story! Love the chalkboard look on the ocean tides card stock! And the inside is wonderful too! Gorgeous inspiration! :)

Beautiful cards - you do masculine as well as you do feminine! Just so tickled to see you use the frame from Garden Variety - I don't use that near enough and you showed a great way to do it, so thanks!

I just keep staring at the first card because there are so many charming details to absorb. And thank you for introducing me to that perfect pie stamp. My Punny Valentine was released long before I knew of PTI. Once I stopped staring at that card, I continued reading your post and laughed out loud at your comment about creating something manly. I'm sure that any man would be happy to receive that card. It is gorgeous, in the most manly sort of way.

What a wonderful use of older sets. I just ran across that punny valentine set & will definitely use that pie again soon. Your attempt at a masculine card is a huge success - love the soft trees. These sentiments are very nice & will be very useful. Thanks so much.

Love your cards so much - those masculine cards fit the bill beautifully. Like another poster, I think your use of all your stamp sets - old and new - is masterful. You know all the goodies.
