I know what you're thinking.....Valentine's Day in the middle of December? Not to worry, just spreading the love around and introducing you to a sweet new set, perfectly appropriate for many different occasions. The whole Papertrey Ink team is sharing projects with you today, showcasing the new Happy Hearts stamp set and Cover Plate: Hearts die.
Hearts are my most favorite shape and pink, my most favorite color, so I am happy as can be to create with these things in mind. For my first card, I used the Cover Plate: Hearts die three separate times from three different papers or cardstocks, to create a nice blend of pinks, from bright to light. I then cut them into strips and assembled the strips on my card base. I used the Sweet Blush heart cutouts left over from the Cover Plate: Hearts, and stamped a few of them using different images from Happy Hearts in Sweet Blush, Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst, and Pure Poppy. I then plugged them into the spaces, leaving a few open, and embellished with sequins. I stamped my sentiment vertically using Raspberry Fizz ink.
I then used the new Limitless Layers: Hearts Stitches die to create a focal point. I used a soft grey patterned paper for the outside of the heart, and Autumn Rose felt for the inside. I used embellishments from Freckled Fawn's OHDEERME December kit to dress up the center of the heart.
My next card uses more of the sweet hearts cut from the Cover Plate: Hearts die, but without the Cover Plate. I created a pocket of these little hearts, sewn in between two pieces of vellum and topped with the new Framed Love die, cut from white cardstock.
I love this particular sentiment from this set, and decided to use it for this card. It is stamped in Smokey Shadow ink on a Double Ended Banners die.
I wrapped up more of the die cut hearts in a glassine bag and attached it inside the card with a mini white clothespin. The bag is secured with a piece of Freckled Fawn washi and a stamped heart from the Happy Hearts stamp set.
There is just so much fun waiting to be had and I am loving my first taste of Happy Hearts and the playful new dies available at Papertrey Ink on December 15th.

LOVE your heart cards! SOOO sweet! The new Love die is so cool and so is your card! The stitched card w/the glassine bag full of die cut hearts is so neat. I like the music washi and heart on the closure, too. :)
