Hello there. Hope you're having a great week so far. Today the Papertrey Ink design team members are showing off the new Doodlie-Do stamp set and have been asked to create two cards using different techniques. For my first card, I couldn't wait to try the Doodlie-Do set with the paper-piecing technique...my most favorite stamping technique.
I love the results and had so much fun combining paper in a variety of colors and patterns. I used the Tag Sale #9 die as my base and after stamping the sentiment in Dark Chocolate, started building my flower from there.
After my blooms were assembled, I added a bit of shimmer with some Diamond Stickles to the center of both flowers. The sentiments in this set are so cute and unique...really a sweet and playful set.
For my next card, I pulled out my watercolor cardstock, my water brush, and ink in the following colors: Simply Chartreuse, Autumn Rose, Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet, Orange Zest, and Summer Sunrise. I used the Doodlie-Do stamp set to form a background, and then added my sentiment and a few embellishments just above.
My sentiment was stamped onto a die cut Journal Tab using Classic Kraft and Berry Sorbet ink. My layered flowers was created using patterned paper, Vintage Cream, Melon Berry, and Autumn Rose felt, and vintage trim, using the Beautiful Blooms II #1, Beautiful Blooms II #2, and Beautiful Blooms II #3 dies, with Ruby Rose dies and Limeade Ice felt used for the leaves.
I added a few sequins to the centers of each flower to add a soft finishing touch. I loved playing around with this stamp set and trying out new techniques. You'll love it too.
