Hello again! I'm back from a quick weekend getaway. My husband surprised me with a few days away and boy, did I love every minute of it. My previous post has been updated with supply lists and details.
The Papertrey Ink group post today focuses on the new Feather Finery stamp set and it is a BEAUTY! One of those stamp sets where the images just stand alone because they are so detailed and beautiful. We were asked to create two cards for you using an inspiration piece as our springboard, with one card being stepped up a bit from the second.
I chose to use my own card as inspiration and focused on the design and elements. As far as stepping up a card, I did fine, it's the stepping down that I seem to struggle with, you know me :). But I did my best. We'll start with the stepped up card.
I used multiple layers of embossing powder here. After die cutting my vellum envelope using the Seed Packet die, I used watermark ink and white embossing powder for the large feather, them gold embossing powder for the smaller feather, and followed it up with a third layer of embossing power and Zing Blush using the dot images in the set. Layering embossed images is so easy and produces beautiful results.
My next and not-so-stepped down card, uses the same watermark ink and white embossing powder. I then added just a bit of color using Shabby Green embossing powder with small speckle images that come in this set. Beautiful results very simply.
I slipped a tag into each vellum envelope, both the Tag Sale #2 and #7 dies were used. The sentiments in this set are so beautiful...I love the mixed font. They were stamped vertically using Smokey Shadow ink. I added a Tiny Tag with a stamped bird to the second card, just to further the theme a bit. So many variations, possibilities, and creative ways to use this set.
Thanks for visiting. The other designers have plenty of things to share with you today as well using the new Feather Finery stamp set:
I love both these cards as well as the sentiments. So very pretty!

Melis, you are too funny! Your projects are gorgeous - both stepped-up and down! :) Although, I wouldn't be surprised if your stepped-down version had a few more layers added after your photo was taken. ;) Love & hugs to you!
