Hello again! I'm here with my second post for today...shocking that I'm here at all based on my track record, isn't it? If you're looking for some Papertrey Ink goodness using new products, you can find my post HERE.
I have a fun tutorial up on the Sizzix blog where I show how I made these sweet, spring favor cones. I love Sizzix dies and pulled out my Brenda Walton Facted Cone and my adorable aqua blue Big Shot to get me started.
The cones are so easy to assemble and give you a chance to use all of your favorite trinkets and trims on them to dress them up and add personality.
I used Freckled Fawn washi tape...
Melissa Frances trim and My Craft Spot scrunched seam binding...
Prima Flair buttons...
Trims and fabrics, American Crafts Dear Lizzy Layered Resin Flowers...
And, my favorite go-to dies including, the Sizzix Decorative Strip Medallion Die by Brenda Walton, and the Sizzix Summer Florals Decorative Strip, also by Brenda Walton. My tutorial can be found here on the Sizzix blog.
Thanks for stopping in!
Melis

Beautifully decorated cones, Melissa! These reminded me of the May Day baskets (sometimes cone shaped) that my little grade school friends and I would make for each other. We'd fill them with popcorn and candies and hang them on each other's front doorknobs. Once in a while when we knew they were home, we would ring the bell, run away and hide in the bushes or to the side, then watch them as they found their basket, smiles ear-to-ear. :) I don't know if kids still give each other May Day baskets, or not?
