Hello my friends, how are you? Today I'm bringing you more new Papertrey Ink goodies, all so much fun. Our group post today focuses on the new Simple Stars stamp set and coordinating Cover Plate. My first card is very girlie, and was inspired by this photo below:
I used the Cover Plate: Stars die and vellum because I wanted some tiny vellum stars for this card. I then colored the vellum stars with a pink Copic marker to turn them a soft, translucent pink. They are scattered across the front of my card and layered over patterned paper cut using the Monthly Moments: Slide Frame die, with the center die cut one more time to form a negative where I could nest another star. These were both cut using the Sketched Stars die collection. I attached part of my sentiment to the side of my card by stamping it first on white cardstock using Melon Berry Ink, and then attaching it to Kraft cardstock cut using the Journal Tab die.
Across the bottom, I scattered more vellum stars after stamping images from the Simple Stars stamp set in Sweet Blush Ink, and then embossing my white cardstock base using the Star Spangled Impression Plate.
I continued on into the inside of the card where I added my sentiment stamped with Melon Berry Ink, and more Sketched Stars.
My next card is a tad bit more masculine and was inspired by the colors found in this photo below, beautiful, eh?

I began with a Kraft card base and then added a block of white cardstock stamped with a few stars from the Simple Stars stamp set using Spring Rain, Fine Linen, and Soft Stone ink. I then used my Cover Plate: Stars die and vellum, Spring Rain cardstock, and patterned paper and cut myself three strips, trimmed into banners, that I adhered down the front of my card. I plugged in the negative spaces here and there with contrasting colors and patterns.
I then attached a die cut and stamped Fancy Flourish followed by a die cut Tremendous Tag stamped in Fine Linen, and then topped it off with a double layer of stars cut using the Seeing Stars die collection. Across the bottom I stamped my sentiment in Smokey Shadow ink on a Rustic Cream die cut Double Ended Banner.
Stars are so universal and classic and using them in paper-crafting is something I love to do, especially when paired with sentiments as sweet as those found in the Simple Stars stamp set.

Your creations are always so stunning and so FULL of creativity. You've definitely taken the stars cover plate die to the next level and I'm in awe. I've been on the fence now for a couple of months on the Monthly Moments Slide Frame die/stamp set. You've convinced me with your feminine card that I MUST HAVE at least the die! :-) Lovely, lovely interpretation. Thanks for the inspiration!!

I love your take on the star cover plate - you really made it shine. Your soft colors, use of vellum, unique use of the stars and sequins made your cards standouts! Super interpretation of your inspiration photos and the stamp/dies.

I save your blog for last on PTI group days because I know that I'm going to be lingering over your cards, trying to take in every last detail. The Copic-colored vellum stars topped by a sequin are lovely and perfectly capture the inspiration photo. Thank you for showing the inside of your card, too. The second card is magical. Your subtle use of color and pattern is stunning. Have a wonderful weekend with your family.
