Here are a few things I created using contents from this kit.  

I love the little mini canvases.  This kit inspired me to try a little mixed media action, combining the two step heart, the butterfly wings, and the scrolls around the edges of my canvas.

I used more heart images from the stamp set to create the background for my card.  Loooooove myself some hearts this time of year :).

I added water to my stamped images on this card and before you think of being intimidated by this fun technique....nope, don't let yourself.  It's easy, fun, and once you try it, you'll just never want to stop!

And lastly, I used the easel die to die cut myself a stand for my focal point.

I stamped my sentiment on black cardstock using white embossing powder, and then created a chalkboard effect by smudging on a bit of Vintage Cream ink.

looking forward, inward, and outward...

Christmas has come and gone and while I am always a little down after the holidays, I also feel a deep sense of happiness, gratitude, and hope as we settle in for another new year.  I find that I look forward to newness...opportunities for growth, change, and more happiness.

My first card was created with a focus on the manufacturer Little B.  They make wonderful dies, stickers, paper tabs, baker's twine, corrugated tape, and fun washi tape.  You can see the list of supplies used on this card HERE. 

 

My next project was created with a focus on misting.  I love all of the mists available for paper-crafting.  I used Tim Holtz Cranberry Color Wash on my project, coating my burlap bag with it, my chipboard dies, cardstock dies, and even my Kraft tags...love the soft color it adds.

This was such a fun project to make for the holidays.  You can find a list of all of the supplies I used on this project HERE.  

Lots of Tim Holtz used here including metal accents, Picket Fence Distress Stains, Game Pieces, and Seasonal Chitchat stickers.

 

 

And lastly, this project was created for Emma's with the focus on a lovely color combination found there...rich, pine green, creamy whites, and a bit of metallic too.

what will you and i give...

Hello!  It's the week of Christmas. How are you all holding up?  Lots left to do on your long lists of this and thats?  My list is a tad bit longer than I had hoped it would be at this point, but we've been having fun all along the way.  I took my mom, Sierra, and my college niece to see my tiny, little niece perform in the Nutcracker...it was amazing!  I am still in awe of how well put together it was...and the costumes!  Oh, they were truly divine.  This was a first for Sierra and I think we may just have to make it a Christmas tradition.

This week it's my turn for a Make it Monday with Papertrey Ink.  I was going to create something fun and festive seeing as how Christmas is just a few, short days away, but I switched gears and decided to go with a different type of tutorial and challenge...that of using your favorite images around just the edges of your cards to create a fun, scattered, layered, border.  And, then to tie your cards in with the theme of "Sympathy".  I know, it's not a topic pleasant to think about, but one that happens in life.  And, by sharing a little piece of yourself though a handmade card, who knows...it may be just what a heart needs at just the right time.

I created a couple more cards using this same technique, just because it is easy, and once I have the general idea and layout, it's a breeze to whip out a few more.

Same around-the-edge technique used here with the Hello There stamp set, Aqua Mist, Spring Moss, Classic Kraft, and Sweet Blush ink.  After stamping around the edges of my white base, I ran it through my die cut machine using the Sunshine Impression Plate.  

My sentiment is from the Inside & Out:  Well Wishes stamp set.  It is stamped on a die cut Tag Sale #4.  Stitched to the center of the tag are die cut hearts, cut using the Hello There die collection.  And well, then there's yet another junk bow :).

And last, and most definitely not a sympathy card, but my little way of wishing you all a very Merry Christmas.  I used the Monthly Moments:  December stamp set around the edges of my card, stamping in Simply Chartreuse, Spring Moss, and Autumn Rose.  

 

My sentiment is from the 'Tis the Season stamp set and is stamped on a die cut Tag Sale #9.  I embellished it with a die cut Fancy Flake and die cut Holly Jolly leaves.  My sweet little Santa badge is from A Flair for Buttons Santa and Friends Flair Collection.

If I don't happen to make it back here before Christmas, I want you to know how much you each mean to me.  You have made my life so special and I am truly grateful.

peace, love, & pink...

Hello and Merry Christmas!  It's a very, merry, pink post today :).  

 

Have you visited the Crate Paper blog lately?  It's a beautiful sight to behold...all things gold, glittery, and Christmas-y.

I created a trio of die cut mitten pocket tags using some of Crate Paper's beautiful vellum printed paper.  This first mitten uses the Open Book Newspaper with Gold Foil vellum as my first layer, with Open Book Memoir paper as my second layer.  I adhered the top layer to the bottom layer on three sides only, leaving the top of each mitten open to form a pocket.  I sprinkled white, opaque, and gold sequins into each pocket  and love how they create movement in each mitten, not to mention vellum combined with sequins is beautiful!  I added an Open Book Layered Tag to my first mitten...perfect colors, and perfect sentiment for winter.

I added Open Book Label Maker Phrase & Word Stickers to this mitten, topped with die cut flowers from the Floral Ephemera Flowers & Leaves collection.  These are so beautiful and unique.  One of my most favorite Open Book elements.

I topped each mitten with vintage trim or pom pom trim from my stash and attached a tag to each mitten to carry through with the holiday theme.  This tag comes from the Open Book Ephemera Pack and I just added a bit of stamping to the bottom of it and embellished it with a vellum and gold heart from the Open Book Vellum Shapes package.  Along with using my Papertrey Ink Shape Up Series:  Mitten die, I also used the Boutique Borders:  Christmas Mini Stamp set.

I used the Stripes with Gold Foil Vellum for this mitten and layered it over Open Book Clippings paper.  It is embellished with the same elements as the first mitten, with the addition of a Glitter Foam Thicker. 

My last mitten uses all of the same Open Book products, but just new combinations of them.  My favorite thing about Open Book is that it is versatile enough to take on a variety of styles, including my favorite, soft and shabby.

I love the Layered Tags and Glitter Foam Thickers...just so sweet, don't you think?  My Vanilla Bean Scrunched Seam Binding is from My Craft Spot...love this stuff.

More pink...Christmas and pink seem to go together so beautifully.  I dressed up a large paper mache star with Krylon Ballet Pink acrylic paint, vintage trim, tulle trim, a tiny bottle brush tree...

White jingle bells, a shabby flair button from the It's a Lilybean Pink Christmas collection.

This sweet little tin was created for a special friend who loves the same things I love.

From the outside in, little winter-y snippets to enjoy.

And lastly, I had a special request for a shabby, pink tree, so I took the challenge, set to work, and created a pair of them.

I used fabric from China...so pretty, vintage trims, and created fun ruffled flowers from snippets of my little girl's pink baby sweater.  

The flowers turned out just precious...they make me smile because of my memories of my Sierra in this...I actually have a vivid image of her as a toddler, wearing her pink sweater, holding baby chicks in the springtime :).

I'll be posting a few more items in my shop within the next day or two...then I think I will be out of steam.

papertrey ink december...

Today's post wraps up all of the fun new sets available at Papertrey Ink.  They'll go on sale at 10PM EST HERE.

My first card uses the new Give Me a Hand stamp set combined with Big Hugs and the Envelope Zipper Die.  

Inside I stamped my sentiment using the new Keep it Simple:  Valentine stamp set.

The Love Notes stamp set is next and is used as my focal point here, stamped on vellum and heat embossed using Zing Blush and gold embossing powder.  

I then stamped the second part of my sentiment on a die cut Double Ended Banner and embossed it in white.  My flower was created using vintage trims and the Hello There heart die.

This card uses the Cover Plate:  In the Woods die along with the Birthday Classics:  January stamp set.

I embossed my sentiment on vellum once again, layered the cover plate over the tope, and added sequins behind to resemble falling snow.

A couple of Fancy Flakes were added and finished it all off.

Now onto a couple of projects for the boys, this first card uses the new Little Human stamp set and dies.

I love the sentiments in this set and the darling little robot.  And, yep, I found my brads :)!  Haven't seen those things in forever.

The Block Party set is next and I used a few of the shapes to build a tiny sailboat, perfect to welcome the new baby.

I created a background on my tag using the new Type Strips II stamp set, and then added images from the new Drips & Dribbles stamp set to create a worn look....love this fun addition.

I stamped my die cut Tiny Tag with a sentiment from Block Party and added stamping at the bottom of my card using the new Keep it Simple:  You're Invited stamp set.

introducing love you to pieces...

Hello Friends!  Welcome to another Papertrey Ink group post.  I have a feeling you're going to love what the team is sharing today, Betsy's new Love You to Pieces Collection.  I truly have never seen anything like it!  

I have created a couple of birthday cards using the fox and coordinating sentiments from this collection.  My first card uses the new Love You to Pieces patterned paper to create a wrap for my birthday card, which contains the cutest little fox, stamped on a coaster, and ready for the birthday girl to assemble.

I stamped the front of my wrap using images from Love You to Pieces, using the die cut Limitless Layers:  Heart Stitches die and 2 1/4" Hearts die to create a focal point for my tiny stamped fox.  I used Summer Sunrise, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy, and Simply Chartreuse ink.

Now for the fun...let's open this little thing up!  I used the new Zipper Die in order to create an interactive card, just lift where it says "Pull Here", and let the fun begin.

Inside a pocket is waiting that contains a sweet birthday treat, all die cut, stamped and ready to punch out and assemble.

Pure genius and completely irresistible!  I stamped on the flip slid of this wrap as well, but just realized that I didn't take photos, so I'll post those in a bit, but it's the perfect spot for the "To and From".

My birthday card uses the tiny fox and accent images from Love You to Pieces.  I used Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise, and Aqua Mist ink.

I combined this set with the new Phrase Play #11 stamp set and die.  I created a little flag attached to a trinket pin, to further the "fox" theme.  

Just so fun and playful and completely enjoyable!  That's what it's all about, right?

introducing big hugs...

You are in for a sweet treat today!  The Papertrey Ink team is introducing another new stamp set and coordinating die collection called Big Hugs, and having just used these myself, I am hooked.  I can see myself using these for so many occasions and for many different reasons.

It seems hard at times to know just the right thing to say when someone you know and love needs a little extra love, but hugs seem to be the perfect medicine.  My first card uses the Big Hugs die as my focal point, with stamping from the Big Hugs set used to complete my sentiment.  I used Berry Sorbet cardstock for my die and attached it to a die cut Limitless Layers:  Heart Stitches die and 2 1/4" Hearts die.

I added the remainder of my sentiment at the bottom of my card using Simply Chartreuse ink and Berry Sorbet for the hearts...love these :).  The stitching is from the Sew Simple Borders stamp set.

I created a vellum pocket filled with die cut hearts to go along with the sentiment.  The pocket uses the Monthly Moments:  Journal Card 1 Pocket die.  I love how it looks filled with a few sequins and colorful hearts.  The flowers used to embellish use the Hello There die.  Vintage Cream twill is my ribbon of choice on this little number.

My next card uses just the Big Hugs stamp set without the use of the die collection.  I stamped my sentiment on a die cut Notched Hearts Banner using Spring Moss, Aqua Mist, Berry Sorbet, and Simply Chartreuse.

I used one of Betsy's cute new houses from the Tinsel & Tags House Additions stamp set to compliment the sentiment of my card.

I embellished with a bit of Stickles glitter, Berry Sorbet Swiss Dot Satin, and a Berry Sorbet heart cut from the Love Lives Here die.  My metal clip at the top is from Freckled Fawn.

monthly moments: december...

Hi Friends!  December is well on its way and that means it's time for my Papertrey Ink Monthly Moments:  December projects.

 I have used the Monthly Moments:  December Journal Card Pad, stamp set, and December die throughout.  

 I used the Monthly Moments:  Journal Card 1 on each of my cards to create a nice uniform look.

 A few of my journal cards were run through my printer in order to document and create a bit of journaling.

The Monthly Moments:  December die comes with two tiny snowflakes (as shown above), creating sweet and instant accents.  

The colors and images used this month are some of my most favorite!  

The postmark image is from the December stamp set.  I love stamping just a portion of it over my photos or journal cards...such a fun, subtle accent.

I used Simply Chartreuse felt and the Holly Jolly die throughout my pages too.  I love the softness and texture that felt adds.

A few sequins and shimmer...and washi tape and star clips.  All from Freckled Fawn.

I always prints my photos out of cardstock, making it easy to stamp directly onto them without worrying about my ink smudging.  

There you have it!  December is such a fun month to remember and I love preserving the little things as well as the big things.

introducing hello there...

Well hello there!  I'm happy to be introducing a new stamp and die set from Papertrey Ink called Hello There :).  It's a cutie...designed by the talented Melissa Bickford.

Melissa's sets are always a mix of the sweetest images that can be combined many different ways for many different occasions.  I've used the two heart images and dies from Hello There on this card with some stamped on cardstock, some on vellum, some from felt, and some just die cut from patterned paper.

I stamped my sentiment vertically down the left side for a little twist and embellished with a few sequins and Sweet Blush buttons.  A super simple and fun card to make.

There's even a little something for the guys in your life included in the Hello There set :).  

I die cut a tie from patterned paper to use in the center of two stamped ties.  These are layered over a die cut Tag Sale #4 tag, cut from Kraft cardstock, and stamped with images from Hello There that create a fun background.

I added my sentiment to the bottom of the card and attached a die cut, cork arrow, cut from the Hello There dies.

Next is a little something for the sunshine in your life :).  This card has me in the mood for spring all of the sudden.  I started with a white background and stamped dotted lines across the bottom using an image from Hello There.  

I then added a die cut Tag Sale # 5 die and added stamped flowers and my sentiment.  I then layered on a few die cut and stamped flowers, and a few felt flowers, all using the Hello There dies.

I finished with my die cut and stamped sunshine, topped with a Harvest Gold button in the center, and a few sequins here and there.

And one last card using the darling little cupcake stamp and die...I'm a sucker for a cupcake, any cupcake.

I due cut the top out of Vintage Cream felt and added some chunky glitter for a little added texture.  The base of the cupcake was cut from Kraft cardstock and stamped using Melon Berry ink.

I layered it over a vellum tag die cut using the Tag Sale #3 die and embossed my sentiment using gold embossing powder.  This tag is layered over another new PTI project that will be released this month, the new Monthly Moments Journal Card 7.....so cute!

What a sweet stamp set...I just love it!

i'm dreaming...

I would love a white Christmas to magically happen this year...but it's sure been nice and warm and fall-like so far this December.  I can't really complain, now can I?   My little girl is not happy about the lovely weather we're having.  I've decided that I'd love for her to have a sledding hill loaded with snow to tube down this Christmas...and a frozen pond just down the road, where she could ice skate.  Those are the type of Decembers I remember having as a child.  I think that's all she'd want for Christmas.  The Peck's pond near where I grew up was in the middle of a cow pasture, stinky but fun, close enough we could walk there, and we'd spend all day, freezing, skating to our heart's content and our fingers numb.  Such simple happiness.

 

My tiny little pink stocking was made with bits of one of my little girl's sweaters she's outgrown and that I loved too much to part with.  So, I incorporate pieces of it here and there on projects I am making.  I used vintage trim and fabric across the top as well as cream pom pom trim.  I used a flair button from A Pretty Vintage Christmas Collection from A Flair for Buttons.  So happy to have pink Christmas embellishments to enjoy :).

My die cut tag is a digital image I purchased from Cottage Rose Graphics.  I just printed my image here at home and then ran it through my die cut machine with my favorite tag die.

A tiny silver jingle bell on the tip of the toe, and that was that.  Such a fun project.

Well, school is out and I'm ready to go get my little lady.

woodsy winterland...

Hi Friends.  I'm sure you're wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of the season, shopping, decorating, preparing for parties, sending off Christmas cards, etc.  I hope that whatever you're doing, you're enjoying this wonderful season of giving and feel happiness in your heart.  Today's share is a shabby, woodsy, burlap Christmas tree, covered in lovely, subtle, earthy colors of cream, taupe, bronze, and silver.

Two colors of burlap have been used on my tree, with cream the color of choice for my large, layered flower.  I used vintage trim and tulle patterned with gold and silver as well as a silver, vintage snowflake for the center.

 

I die cut flourishes from sheet music paper using the Sizzix Botanical Vine die.  After die-cutting, I added white glitter over the top for some winter sparkle.

A glittered, silver star, large, creamy sequins, crystal trinket pins, silver and bronze pine cone ornaments...love all of these warm colors mixed together in one place :).

I added a large die cut "noel" across the center of my tree.  It uses glittered paper and the Sizzix Tim Holtz Vintage Noel die...a favorite of mine.  I added just a bit of pine green using the Sizzix Holiday Greens Thinlits dies.

I love creating and sharing and giving this time of year....it makes me so happy.  I hope your holiday season is filled with love.  I have watched THIS VIDEO a few times since it came out, and it has helped me understand even more fully, just what Christmas is all about.  If only we could hold onto it and let it take hold of our hearts every day, all year long.

cinnamon rolls and soup...

The cozy, comforts of home.  Winter always makes me want to nestle in, bake, and create comfort for my little family.  That's just what we did tonight, with chicken noodle on the stove and cinnamon rolls in the oven.  Simple pleasures :).

My latest favorite holiday supply is the Tim Holtz Tattered Poinsettia die from Sizzix.  I've got a few things to share with you today, using this beautiful die.  I  love layering different colors and patterns of paper to create sweet, homespun poinsettias, and these make such beautiful focal points.  Across the bottom of my card I used a Bo Bunny Press Christmas Collage Film Sticker...Christmas Collage is such a gorgeous, vintage holiday collection.  My chipboard sentiment comes from Echo Park's Home for the Holidays collection.

My layered poinsettia is made up of paper from Basic Grey's Evergreen collection, Kaisercraft Yuletide, and Jillibean Soup Winter Tortellini...a fun combination of colors and patterns.  My favorite Vanilla Bean scrunched seam binding can be found at My Craft Spot.

This card uses the same die, but is just layered differently.  I embellished the center with a sweet flair button from the Santa and Friends Flair collection from A Flair for Buttons etsy shop.  Such a fun place to shop :).

My chipboard snowflakes and aqua metal clip are from Freckled Fawn's December OHDEERME embellishment kit.  I painted the snowflakes off-white, sanded the edges a bit, and then coated them in glitter.  This kit is loaded with the cutest holiday supplies.

My stamps are from Papertrey ink and are from the Holly Jolly, Love Lives Here:  Holiday, and Believe stamp sets.

And lastly, I used the Tattered Poinsettia die to dress up a tiny mailbox, created with the Sizzix Mailbox die.  

These little mailboxes are so easy to make and I love dressing them up using my favorite supplies...what a fun way to package up a treat this Christmas.

joyful...

My tree is up, stockings are hung, and Christmas shopping not nearly done, but I love it all.  This year we stashed my favorite, cute little flocked Christmas tree in our bedroom for a change and hunted for a real tree, nice and tall, skinny, with lots of nooks and crannies where I can stash my favorite Christmas ornaments and memories.  I adore it :).  I've decided that we must always have a real tree from now on...I love it so much and it smells like heaven.  So, with the lights twinkling tonight and the fire crackling, I have winter wishes on my mind and have a few cards to share with you.  And, I will continue to put off my Christmas shopping :).  Shopping for an 11 year old is very hard...I remember that in-between stage.

This first card was created for Emma's Paperie and is based on a sketch you can find there.  You can see many other versions of this particular sketch, created by the other designers there.

I used Bo Bunny Press' Candy Cane Lane Collection....so sweet and charming.  A must have.  The tiny little tree is also from Emma's and is from Fancy Pants.  You can find a list of all of the supplies I used on this card HERE.

My next card uses lots of Basic Grey's new Evergreen collection.  I love the color combination in this fun set.  

I did a bit of stamping here and mixed in some vellum, a transparency, cardstock stickers, chipboard, and metal snowflake.

santa stationery revisited...

This month the Papertrey Ink Sr. Team is revisiting the Santa Stationery stamp set.  It's such a fun and playful set with oodles of possibilities.  My first project uses this set as a way of communication between the kiddos and Santa.  

I used Papertrey Ink's 4"x 4" Square Vintage Cream envelopes and dressed up the outside using Santa Stationery along with the Holly Jolly and Candy Cane Christmas stamp sets.  The envelopes are ready to be sent to the North Pole just as soon as "Wish Lists" are added to the inside :).

I used Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel, Ripe Avocado, Simply Chartreuse, Smokey Shadow, Aqua Mist, and Fine Linen ink.  

 

I used a Vintage Cream Notepad and added stamping in order to create a festive spot for Christmas wishes.

All that's left is for a little someone to make their wish list, fold it up, and sent it off to the North Pole!

I also created a tag using the Santa Stationery stamp set, this time stamping and embossing on vellum and softening up the look a bit.

I used the Shaker Shapes:  Snow Globe die to create a fun shaped tag to dress up a package.  I embossed my Santa image using Zing! Blush embossing powder.

I stamped my sentiment across the bottom of the snow globe and added a bit of sparkle with glitter and sequins.

more monthly moments november...

Farewell November 2014.  You have been so beautiful, gentle and completely enjoyable.  My little girl will be much bigger this time next year...more of a tween than she already is.  Oh gosh...I'm buckling in for a bumpy ride :).  I wonder how her little personality might change...I am certainly loving her crazy, funny little quirks right now.  She has me laughing and turning inside out at every turn in life I tell you, and I love it.  Complete adoration is what I feel for her.

A few November happenings to share in my Papertrey Ink Monthly Moments:  November pages.  I love reflecting back on my blessings.  I have used the Monthly Moments:  November stamp set on my pages along with the November Journal Card Pad.

I die cut cork using my Wet Paint Cuts dies and used them to assemble my sentiment across the bottom here along with Terra Cotta Tile felt and the Heart Prints die.

I also added in Songbirds dies and accented with sequins and felt flowers.  My fun wood chip shapes, enamel hearts, and washi are from Freckled Fawn. 

Such a sweet month to reflect on....hope your November was beautiful in many different ways!
