A lovely hello to you today! I get to introduce the most beautiful new stamp set from Papertrey Ink called Brushed Blooms....it's jaw dropping and such a treat to create with. I have been thoroughly enjoying myself :). This set gives you lovely, soft, almost watercolor-looking flowers in two, simple steps and I LOVE it!
The Brushed Blooms stamp set has a coordinating die collection that makes adding dimension so simple and fun. I've used the dies on my first two cards today. The first card uses another new product out this month called Sentiment Splits. They are crazy fun and unique! I've used both the dies and stamp set for my first card. I chose a color pallet of Aqua Mist and Spring Rain for my blue flowers and Harvest Gold and Summer Sunrise for my yellow/orange flowers.
I used some lovely Sheer Basics Vellum for the top portion of my card and then layered on patterned paper across the bottom. Love the fun, soft curve that this particular Sentiment Split: Curve Vertical die adds.
My next card uses more of the Brushed Blooms dies to create a sweet, spring bouquet. I am so happy with how these colors turned out together....they remind me of my Grandma Haslam and the purple violets she'd always have in little pots in her home.
I used Lavender Moon and Autumn Rose for my large flowers, with the smaller flowers stamped in Melon Berry, highlighted with a bit of Stickles Diamond glitter. My stems and leaves were stamped in Spring Moss and Simply Chartreuse. My bouquet is layered over a die cut Monthly Moments: Journal Card 2 cut from Sheer Basics Vellum.
My sentiment is stamped across the bottom using Autumn Rose and Melon Berry ink. This will go down as my very most favorite font....it's gorgeous!
Next up, I used the Brushed Blooms stamp set to emboss some flowers on vellum. I began by using the Stitched Tag die and embossed my flowers in white and Blush embossing powder with the leaves embossed in silver.
After assembling the pocket, I filled it with a few pink sequins and embellished it with a Let Them Eat Cake Flair Button.
My sentiment is stamped on a die cut Keep it Simple Frame and attached with a safety pin to the top of my tag using a junk bow. The second half of my sentiment is stamped down the right edge of the card using Soft Stone.
Lastly, I created a background using the Smoosh technique and the Brushed Blooms stamp set. I added a bit of water over my stamped images to create a water-color effect. I used Melon Berry and Berry Sorbet ink for my small flowers and Harvest Gold and Summer Sunrise for my larger flowers.
I added a sentiment using the new You've Been Framed: Oval stamp set with coordinating dies. This is layered over a die cut Tag Sale #4 cut from Sheer Basics Vellum once again.
The flourishes in the upper and lower corners is from the new You've Been Framed: Diamond stamp set...loving these fun new sets too :).
There's so much more to see! Just follow the links below and enjoy :). Thanks for visiting!
Melissa

I just love all of your cards. The Brushed Blooms set is beautiful. I am putting it on my wish list now! I especially like your last card using the Smooshed technique. I would vote for a second MIM showcasing how you stamped over the Smooshing. Was is just simple stamping or did you add water to the stamps too?

It all came together beautifully with your unique style and the wonderful new Brushed Blooms. I love that you smooshed. You use tags in such a delightful way, and I always look for vellum on you cards. This stamp set was made for you - and you make this stamp set!

Love all of your work. They are so perfectly put together. That's where I fall short. How do you use the thin dies and get them placed on the paper to where the border is the same width all around. I have a problem every time I use one of the thin dies. Any suggestions would be a great help. Thanks
