Good morning Sunshines! Our next Papertrey Ink group post is all about flowers and linens and I have had such a great time indulging myself in these two elements while creating. Vintage Linens is a new grouping of products that will be available through Papertrey Ink on July 15th @10PM EST.
For my first project, I used the above photo to jumpstart my creativity. When I think of vintage linens, I also think about teacups, and when I think about teacups, I think about filling them with flowers :). So I knew I wanted to use the lovely Vintage Linens stamps and dies to fill a die cut Fancy Teacup.
I stamped each flower in Fine Linen, and then added Harvest Gold in the solid area of the two smaller flowers, and stamped with Sweet Blush for the solid portion of my larger flower. I then added color using my watercolor pencils, and added a bit of water to smudge the edges of the flowers. My sentiment and sweet, stamped borders are from the new Embroidered Borders stamp set and coordinating dies.
I then added some Chicken Scratch Gingham, adhesive pearls, and Stickles Diamond glitter to dress up my card and finish it off.

I couldn't just choose one photo to inspire me, so I selected this next photo and went with a more bold, vibrant look, in the colors found in the new Vintage Linens paper pack...sooooo cute!
Once again I used the Vintage Linens dies and stamps, stamping my outer edge in Pure Poppy and the inside with Sweet Blush, The very inside of my flower is stamped in Summer Sunrise. My leaves are stamped in the fun and happy New Leaf ink, which I need to use more often :).
I used the Embroidered Borders stamps and dies once again and created a frame of sorts for my flower to rest in.
The sentiment I chose to use with this card is from the Vintage Linens stamp set and I thought a bit of stitching would be appropriate, so I added the Sew Simple Borders set in to create faux stitching down the edge of my card.
Vintage Linens is a must have! Creating with it and all of the coordinating products was truly such a delight.

Melissa, I've been lurking in the shadows and following your blog for years. You are seriously the best paper crafter out there. You have a crazy way of just bringing it all together into a magnificent little masterpiece. This wouldn't be the first time I purchase from Papertrey Ink because of your creations, and it won't be the last, I'm certain. Keep up the great work.

Hi Melissa,
I first spotted your charming and delicate and all so clever designs ever since I saw you with Emma's Paperie, one of the best decisions that I made was to follow your blog. Along these years I have fallen deeper in love with your artistry and mind, I loved your pincushions and your little houses, and then you started designing for PTI and my life started to have color and I started to feel whimsical and childlike and excited and all because of you. I will be eternally grateful for all your inspiration and tutorials and for you being you, such a truly and sincerely good, and loving person! I wish the world would have a lot of Melissa's in it, it certainly would be a better place!
The interpretation that you have given to this set is STUNNING!!!! I never ceased to be intrigued and fascinated with your work. Between you and I and let's face it the rest of your fans that will read my comments PTI ,should give you a commission on their sales......just saying!!!
Cariños,
María Alba
