Here are a few things I created using this oh, so irresistible kit.

 

This first project is a fun, interactive matchbox, that could be hung on the tree as an ornament, hold a gift card, or even work as gift wrapping for a sweet, and tiny gift.

I love cutting out the windows and doors so that you can see inside the box...this is easily done using the die included in the kit, so all of the intricate, hard work is done for you.

I used a metal eyelet, from the kit, to create a hanger for my matchbox, and used thin velvet ribbon to secure everything in place.

Inside, I used the sparkly pom pom trim from the kit around the edges of my matchbox, the tiny present die, sentiments from the stamp set to make my scene come to life.

This kit is full of wonderful possibilities for card and tag making as well.  I've used many of the stamps from the kit to create my winter scene, adding in die cuts here and there to add dimension.

 

And lastly, I wanted to light up this tiny package, so after die cutting the openings from each window, I added a layer of vellum behind, and placed an LED light from the kit inside.  Kind of hard to tell that there is light shining from within in these photos, but sure looks amazing in person :).

 

There is truly so much to love about this kit...I could go on and on about all of the wonderfully thought out details.  Betsy is truly such a gifted artist and crafter...her personality shines through in her kits.

shakers + halloween pin-ups...

Hi there!  I don't know about you, but I never seem to get enough use out of my favorite Halloween products each season, and before I know it, Halloween has come and gone.  So today, for my Papertrey Ink Tips & tricks, I am combining a couple of my favorite items, just so I can get more use out of them, and to create really sweet treats while I'm at it :).

I love the Make it Market Mini Kit:  Halloween Pin-Ups, and thought I'd combine elements from this kit, with the well-loved Shaker Shapes:  Candy Corn....who could ever get enough of this darling die?

I am a scrap lover, and always find lots of inspiration from my scrap pile, so when cutting my Shaker Shape:  Candy Corn, I saved each of the cut outs, to use on a second, or third tag for my gift wrap.  Here's how I put everything together.  I began by die-cutting my base from yellow chevron paper (from the 2015 Stamp-a-faire kit).  That way, I could let a bit of this fun pattern and color show through.  I then die cut my double-sided foam adhesive layer using the second part of the shaker shape, and adhered it in place over my base.

Then, with the cut outs left from my first shaker shape tag, I mixed and matched my colors and patterns, plugging each in where I wanted them to fit.  

Next I used the top left over from my first tag and matched it up with this tag, cutting a layer of clear acetate using the base die, and adhering it to the backside of my die cut top.

Before I adhered the top of the shaker shape to the bottom of the shaker shape, I wanted to add some sequins...because that's what makes these so fun, right?  

Then came the top layer, adhered nice and snug but taking off the covering from the double-sided foam adhesive.

And, then it was time for the fun...adding a die cut Halloween Pin-UP (no clothespin used) to the top of my tag, along with Baker's Twine and a die cut tag.  I added a little sparkle to the shoes and bow tie here on my Dracula, and in the first project, to the witches boots.  I use Ranger Stickles Diamond glitter...it's a must have in my craft room.

This darling mini kit, makes creating for Halloween simple enough that your little ones can be involved.  You can stamp if you want, of very quickly just die cut the pre-printed images.

All that is left is for you to attach them to a treat or package and give them away...if you can part with them.  They are so much fun to make!

love @ home...

I love Monday evenings.  They mean family time at home, or sometimes elsewhere, but together, which always feels like home.

We do our best to make this happen, granted there are always Mondays where other things call our attention away, so we fit our night together in on other evenings.  Tonight is one of those nights.  Just me and my newly-turned-12-year old.    

Tonight we've worked on Personal Progress together...I love this program and have definitely noticed a change in my life since making it a part of each day.  I completed this program when I was a teen, but have decided to do it again, to better understand what my daughter is accomplishing and working towards, and the Young Women in my ward as well.  I'm a believer of miracles, and this program contributes to those miracles.

Now all is quiet and I love to relish in the quietness of the autumn evening, the sounds of the house, the sounds outside, and think back on the day and all that was "gifted" to me on this beautiful Monday, with my beautiful family.

a victoria christmas...

Hope you're all enjoying a beautiful Sunday!  I've got something sweet and serene to share today, using Prima's new A Victorian Christmas collection.  

I created a card/invite and home decor/gift for the Prima blog...all of the details and supplies are listed for you there, along with other beautiful creations.

If I were ever to wish or dream up a Christmas collection just for me, this would be the one :).  It's shabby, timeless, elegant, and nostalgic.

I have several old books that I keep here and there around my house and use for decorations, and decided to wrap up a couple and dress them in paper, flowers, and other items from the A Victorian Christmas collection.

I wrapped my books in a strip of patterned paper, added trim, and then die cut a giant snowflake using the Sizzix Snowflake Ornament die.

And then added lovely layers of blossoms and berries. 

I love making old things new again, such as old, weathered, worn, and beloved books :).  Might just be what I give away for Christmas this year, after I've dressed them up.

nativity inspiration...

Hello again!  I am so excited about today's Papertrey Ink group post and hope you'll enjoy your visit and will enjoy seeing all of the new products in action.  We are celebrating Christmas today with our focus on the Nativity, and this is something that is very special to me all year round, but never more than at Christmastime.

My card uses the new Petite Places:  Nativity stamp set across the bottom using Smokey Shadow ink.  I adhered a die cut star, cut from gold glittered cardstock, using the new Scene It:  Bethlehem die.  I then used a sentiment from the new O Holy Night stamp set, stamping it across my card using Fine Linen ink.

  

I die  cut my "Christmas", also from gold glittered cardstock, using the new Christmas Cheer dies, and adhered it over my O Holy Night sentiments, adding a beginning to my phrase, which is from the Christmas Cheer stamp set as well.  The beautiful, intricate border is from the new Petite Ornament:  Square die.  I used paper from the Holiday Flourishes and Swirls paper pad across the top of my card.

The Nativity products work so perfectly for tags as well as cards, and that's what I've created here, starting with the new Scene It:  Bethlehem die.  I used paper again from the Holiday Flourishes & Swirls paper pad, stamping my scene directly onto it, and adding a die cut stable.

I backed my scene with gold glittered cardstock, cut using the Scene It:  Basic Backer die and a couple of die cut Fancy Flakes.  

I added my sentiment at the top, stamped using the new O Holy Night stamp set, and stamped onto a die cut Tremendous Tag.

Lastly, I created a dimensional ornament, using the new Snowflake Medallion die and adhering my die cut and stamped Petite Places:  Nativity scene to the center of it.

Once again I used the Scene It:  Basic Backer die behind my snowflake, and added a sentiment from the Petite Places:  Nativity stamp set onto a Tiny Tag.

I love celebrating Christmas with the Nativity and all that happened leading up to Christ's birth at the center of our celebrations, so these thoughtful products are the perfect way to bring that true meaning into our hearts and lives while creating for others.

Celebrating Cath + Technique Tuesday blog hop...

My card today uses Chat's new Garden of Life stamp set and coordinating dies.  I am always drawn to paper-piecing, so that's what I've done here with the large flower from the set.

This sentiment immediately made me think of Cath as she is and always has been a breath of fresh air, a friend who helps others see the beauty in themselves, and truly just a very genuine person.  I'm grateful to have know here for as long as I have and hope that her journey creating lovely things for all of us to enjoy, will continue for many years to come.

quick + easy holiday wraps...

It's all things Christmas today as the Papertrey Ink design team shares projects using brand new holiday sets.  I love each and every one of them...I know that's no help to you that are trying to narrow down your shopping lists :)...but it's the absolute truth.  All of these new products will be available for purchase on September 15th @10PM EST HERE at Papertrey Ink.

My first group of projects uses the new Minute to Make:  Holiday Tags stamp set and dies...oh, how I love these things!  It's a three or four step process, depending on what detail you'd like to add to your tags, and they are just so much fun to build and customize.

I used Vintage Cream Linen cardstock, Autumn Rose, Ripe Avocado, Pure Poppy, and Dark Chocolate ink.  I added a bit of embellishment by adding a stamped and die cut holly berry and leaf image from the new Enclosed:  Bell stamp set...also, a must have :).  

My envelopes are stamped using an image from the 2010 Holiday Tags stamp set and I've used paper from the Holiday Flourishes and Swirls paper collection and the new Treetops Glisten paper pad.  I also used Scarlet Jewel satin and Simply Chartreuse Twill.

Next up is a set of really fun and each wrappings using the new Ribbon Slider Sentiments stamps, dies, and Tags Paper.  I love using fabric in my paper-crafting and have done so here.

All I did was die cut my Ribbon Sliders, some were pre-printed, some I hand stamped, and then cut coordinating strips from fabric and Chicken Scratch Gingham paper.

I then layered my strips, offsetting them a bit to add dimension and character.  I added in a few strips of glitter tape as well, embellishing with aqua and white sequins.

Next, I stapled my layers together and tucked them up underneath the trimmings across the top of my glassine bag.

This is a hand stamped slider, using the Tags Paper, die, and images from the Ribbon Sliders set along with the Make it Market Mini Kit:  Holiday Folk and Topiary Trio sets.

This is a pre-printed slider, die cut from the Tags Paper pad.  So much fun and very unique.

This fun little project was created using the new In the Bag stamp set and coordinating die.  I cut two of the bag die so I could actually create a bag to either fill and give as a gift, or hang on the tree with the gift card or small package inside.  

I stamped my sentiment from the In the Bag stamp set on a die cut Tremendous Tag, accenting with images from the Make it Market Mini Kit:  Holiday Folk and Topiary Trio stamp sets.  I created my bag using paper from the Treetops Glisten paper pad and the Holiday Flourishes and Swirls paper collection.

I embellished the front of my bag using an image from the new Deck the Halls stamp set, using Scarlet Jewel and Ocean Tides ink.  I created a handle for my bag using Scarlet Jewel satin ribbon.

Lastly, I used the new Christmas Tree Change Up stamp set and die to create a tag.  I die cut my tree from vellum and embossed using Zing Blush and Stampendous Shabby Green Embossing Enamel.  

I stamped my sentiment on a strip of white cardstock using Ocean Tides ink and embellished the ends using image from the Make it Market Mini Kit:  Holiday Folk.  

The star at the tip of the tree was also cut from vellum and embossed with silver powder.

I wanted my tag to be dimensional, so I folded the center between the two side of the tree, upwards inside the two layers.  It is layered over a die cut Fancy Flake.

I then created a tag using the Jar Label die, the Friendship Jar:  Fall Fillers, the 2010 Holiday Tags, Make it Market Mini Kit:  Holiday Folk, and Topiary Trio stamp sets.

introducing make it market mini kit: holiday folk...

Welcome to Papertrey Ink's first group post for September.  You'll love the new Make it Market Mini Kit:  Holiday Folk!  It's enchanting and magical and a pure joy to get your hands on.

I've used this kit to create a couple of pocket tags...these are a bit more on the detailed side, just to show you that this kit can be as complex as you'd like it to be, or beautifully simple.

I used the Monthly Moments:  Journal Card 6 die as my base.  Both tags used paper from the mini kit.  I then cut a pocket for my tag using the Stitched Tag die.  

After stamping the pocket of my tag with watermark ink using images from the set, I embossed using Shabby Green Embossing Enamel from Stampendous.  This adds sparkle and shine and adds to the magic!  I then added tiny detailed images using Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise, Aqua Mist, and Berry Sorbet ink.

Then I added a bit of smudging using my Gelatos.  These add such softness.   After my stamping was complete, I added stithicng using pink embroidery floss and adhered my pockets to the tags.

Using the Tremendous Tags die, I die cut and stamped tags for both of my pocket tags using images from the kit.

Both were attached using the fun twine included in the kit.  These pockets are the perfect size for gift cards, jewelry, or tinkets and treasures.

My card is very simple and can easily be duplicated in no time.  I began with paper from the kit and then die cut a focal point for my sentiment using the Scene It:  Basic Backer die and white cardstock.  

I added just a bit of stamping, but used the pre-printed images for much of my scene, embellishing with tiny wood stars, also included in the kit.

I added two strips of twine around my card, and included a bit of trim and a button to finish it off.  I can hardly wait to dig into this kit again...it's gorgeous and so much fun!

a simple pleasure...

Hello and happy weekend to you!  It's gonna be a busy one around here as hunting season settles upon us :).  And, I have tomatoes that need to be harvested and bottled....I've already made salsa, now for tomato sauce, maybe...anyone have a good tomato sauce recipe?  

My card today was created for Emma's Paperie and is based on a juicy, fresh, and fruity color combination found there.  I've used lots of Crate Paper Craft Market...one of my most favorite collections.

One of my most favorite things to do, is sit and flip through a paper-crafting magazine.  This is becoming harder and harder to do though as publications come and go and there aren't many left.  I was recently asked to contribute to a beautiful publication from Scrapbook & Cards Today...their brand new, Creative Cards Volume 1 and I am so excited to put my feet up and browse through my copy, nice and slow :).

introducing deck the halls...

Welcome to the first day of the Papertrey Ink September countdown!  This time of year always means new holiday stamp sets and products, so get ready :).   I get to share with you the new Deck the Halls stamp set today and it is one that is already a favorite.

I used the wreath image from this set to create a vertical trio of wreaths, with the top and bottom wreaths stamped directly to the card base and the center wreath die cut and stamped and then attached with dimensional adhesive.  The bows are also from the Deck the Halls set and were die cut and stamped and adhered with dimensional adhesive as well.

I used Simply Chartreuse, Autumn Rose, Dark Chocolate, and Fine Linen ink.  I added a couple of swirls for embellishment using the Fancy Flourishes set.

I had to try a glittery, pink wreath and I love it so much that I know I'll be making more of them :).  

I used the Basic Bookmark 3 die and used it to form my focal point.  I embossed the wreath using Zing Blush embossing powder and Pure Poppy ink.  The bow is stamped in Ocean Tides and the sentiment in Enchanted Evening.

Don't you love all of the beautiful Christmas color combinations?  This is one of my favorites, reds, blues, pinks...so fun and playful for the holiday.

I stamped my wreath in Autumn Rose on Kraft cardstock for this next card, layering it over a second die cut wreath and then layered over a Sweet Blush and Chicken Scratch Gingham Limitless Layers: 2 1/2" Circles die.

I embellished my wreath using Tutu Pearlescents from Bo Bunny Press and Vintage Cream and Simple Chartreuse felt flowers cut using the Be Happy and Holly Jolly dies.

I added  strip of Scarlet Jewel satin and a bit of stamping down the right side using the Sew Simple Borders and Holly Jolly stamp sets.

Lastly, I wanted to use the Deck the Halls wreath on an tag that can be used for any occasion other than Christmas.  I LOVE wreaths and enjoy using them all year round.  I just changed my color scheme a bit, using Spring Moss, Berry Sorbet, and Spring Rain.  

I used the Basic Bookmark 2 die, cutting two of them to provide some layering and dimension.  

I used a Tremendous Tag for my sentiment and stamped it with Fine Linen ink using a sentiment from the Garden Variety set.

This set is irresistible and I'm ready to get going on more holiday projects because of it.  Stay tuned for more :).  These other ladies have fun things to share with you today as well:

an abundant life...

Good morning!  I hope you've all enjoyed a beautiful weekend.  I certainly have :).  I've been lucky enough to get to spend a few days with my husband's family in the mountains.  Fresh air, sunsets, bright, starry night skies, sunshine, the cutest little and big nieces and nephews, delicious Dutch Oven spuds, games, and a bit of time to unwind.

My project today was created for the Prima blog and is one of my most favorite projects for Prima.  Anything with hearts, glitter, and flowers, is bound to be a favorite of mine :).

flower favorites revisited...

This is the month I LOOOOVE!  September, beautiful, miraculous, Indian Summer, September :).  The desert finally starts cooling, the evening shadows get long and turn the landscape colors of lavender...and my baby girl came into our lives in September, so hey...this month is special!

The Papertrey Ink Sr. Team have been challenged to revisit the beautiful, Flower Favorites stamp set.  This  set is one I don't ever put away.  I love the sentiments and the gorgeous florals.  My first project uses watercolor cardstock, and the watercolor technique as I blended shades of Spring Rain, Winter Wisteria, and Lavender Moon together to create my lupine.

I started with the Basic Bookmark 3 die, added my stamping and blending with water, and then embossed my sentiment on a strip of vellum, which I then attached across the front of my tag.

I couldn't put my shades of purple away, and created another card using Flower Favorites with shades of Lavender Moon, Sweet Blush, Autumn Rose, Winter Wisteria, and Aqua Mist.

I die cut the flowers several times, stamping each in different color combinations, and then arranged them on m card after adhering a strip of Chicken Scratch Gingham.

My sentiment comes from the Topiary Trio stamp set and was stamped on a Double Ended Banners die.

And since we're revisiting this set, I thought I'd revisit one of my first projects created with this lovely set.  

Color mixing is just so much fun with this two-step stamp set...super playful and creative.
