It's the Saturday before Christmas, and things are calm at my house. I've still got my holiday baking to do and cleaning for company that's coming on Christmas Eve, but aside from that, I feel like I'm ready :). How about you?
I will be sad to put away my Christmas paper-crafting materials for another long while. I always enjoy crafting for this magical time of year. But for today's post and maybe a few posts next week, we'll keep enjoying the holidays :).
My card was created for Emma's Paperie and is based on a sketch there. I've used lots of October Afternoon's Under the Tree collection. It's a favorite of mine and is full of retro/vintage images and the bold, bright colors associated with traditional Christmas. You can find a complete supply list HERE at Emma's.
On this beautifully, bright, peaceful, December day, this quote is one that brings me hope and enlarges my understanding of my Savior and all He did and continues to do for me today. I love Him so.

Wonderful card! Just love the retro look. Thanks for sharing the quote and your testimony. When I was out shopping today and saw people looking at lists and loading their carts with presents, seemingly wishing they were anywhere else but there, my heart felt sad. Yes, I was there to buy some ingredients to carry on G'ma's Christmas cookie tradition but it wasn't a burden. It brought me joy to know I could share this with my family. My G'ma was the most giving, caring, selfless, Christ-like person I have ever known. 365 days a yr, she radiated His light. She was the spirit of Christmas, every day. I was extremely blessed to have her in my life for so many yrs. Every day, her memory inspires me to be kind, to love and to remember that I also have that light within me and that I need to nurture it to keep it shining. Bless you, Melissa. xx Gabby

The style of this card brings memories of Christmas past flooding back to me. It reminds me of cards I received as a child. Thank you for the trip down memory lane!

This is a great card and reminds me of when I was little! So nice! I have also been enjoying crafting for Christmas but the season goes so fast. I think every year that I have to start earlier but Halloween and fall and winter birthdays get in the way. I may keep making Christmas cards for awhile just to have some done for next year. I got the All Through the House kit but haven't even had time to use it. Always enjoy your blog and wish you and your family a great Christmas and New Year!
