Good morning! It's a beautiful day to be thinking spring, isn't it? Our group post today at Papertrey Ink is all about butterflies! I can't think of a more magical creature, completely perfect in nature, down to the tiniest detail. My first card uses the new Bitty Butterflies die.
This sweet photo is so inspiring and was the jumping off point for my card. I can't wait to try my hand at some of these fun color combinations and looks...so sweet and happy.
This is a super quick and easy card. I simply cut a strip of paper to adhere behind each row of butterflies, using vellum on my first row, over the Mint Julep cardstock.
I then adhered some of the bitty butterflies left behind from the die, and adhered them in the openings of a few selected butterflies, bending their wings up slightly, and then embellishing the centers with a sequins. My sentiment is stamped in Mint Julep and is from the new Keep it Simple: Baby stamp set.
I used watercolor cardstock on my second card, in order to achieve a watercolor look with my rows of butterflies. The Bitty Butterflies stamp set was used here.
These colors are so inspiring, aren't they? They are so refreshing to soak in this time of year. I love their watercolor look, and used this image as my inspiration piece.
I inked my butterfly stamps in two colors of ink before stamping on my die cut Tag Sale #5. I used Summer Sunrise, Lavender Moon, Melon Berry, and Raspberry Fizz. After I stamped them on my tag, I spritzed my tag with a water bottle, letting the water soak in just a bit, and then dabbing off the excess with a paper towel.
I used Fancy Flourishes in Fine Linen across the front of my tag to create movement, and stamped my sentiment in Berry Sorbet at them bottom...a sentiment selected from the Bitty Butterflies stamp set.
Lastly, I used the Enclosed: Butterfly stamp set and die to create a super soft and clean look on this card.

The new Mint Julep color is so beautiful and calming. I love mixing it with other greens such as Spring Moss and Limeade Ice, and blues such as Aqua Mist and Ocean Tides. It's my new favorite color. After stamping my bottom butterfly with Lavender Moon, Mint Julep, Ocean Tides, and Aqua Mist, I added a vellum layer, with a bit of stamped detail heat embossed in white.
Once again I used Fancy Flourishes...seems to go so perfectly with butterflies :), and Ombre Stripes paper down the fold, along with a stamped sentiment in Soft Stone from the new Bold Blossoms stamp set.
There's so much more to see on this chilly, January day, by visiting the blogs listed below. Thanks for visiting!

Absolutely stunning cards! I was debating on whether is was worth ordering fine linen ink since I had never seen it used in a card. Thanks for showing me how great that color can look!
