Good morning Friends! Welcome to the first group post for Papertrey Ink's March release. You are most definitely in for a sweet treat today as you hop around and visit each designer's blog. On my first card I have used the darling Just Desserts and Just Desserts Sentiments stamp sets.
I ran across this beautiful cake from Country Living the other day, and fell immediately in love with it. Anything aqua, and you know I have a serious problem :). Anyway, I HAD to try and recreate it somehow using this new stamp set.
And, by the way, the recipe for this lucious spectacle can be found HERE. I think I need to try this recipe for myself...looks so beautiful and tasty :).
I stamped my cake in Harvset Gold with Aqua Mist used for my frosting layers. I then used Fine Linen to create some soft speckles and texture to my cake. The tiny flowers are stamped in Sweet Blush and Spring Moss, with my sentiment stamped in Dark Chocolate.
I used a Card Base-ics #1 die for my background, using the Scene It: Basic Backer and the Scalloped Tag Base to frame in my focal point.
I embellished an envelope just a bit by adding some stamping from the Just Desserts stamp set and adding a patterned paper liner, cut using the A2 Envelope Liner die.
For my next card I used the new Frosted Border dies....you'll love these :). I chose to create a 3-tiered birthday cake using a different frosted border to decorate each layer.
I used Vintage Cream, Harvest Gold, and Sweet Blush felt for my cake layers, mixing in some trim and sequins to embellish along with felt flowers cut using the Button Stacks II die and leaves cut using the new Bloomin' Cute dies.
My sentiment is from the Just Desserts Sentiments stamp set and my confetti stars are from the new Sprinkles on Top stamp set. I stamped in Harvest Gold, Sweet Blush, and Lovely Lady ink.
Lastly, I used the new Sprinkles on Top stamp set again on my final card. My cupcake was created using the Enclosed: Cupcake die. I stamped my sprinkles on my top layer, coloring them in using my Copics. I also added a bit of glitter and sequins for a little sparkle.
At the top of my cupcake I used the new Big Birthday Candles die...so cute :).
I embellished my cupcake with pom pom trim and a felt flower cut using the Bloomin' Cute dies. At the bottom of my cupcake I added a die cut which used the Good Times die.
Thanks so much for visiting. Be sure to stop by and sweet what all of the other designers have created to share with you today as well.
Melis

Love that delicious looking yet pretty aqua cake. I agree anything with aqua just steals my heart. Although I never thought I could use that color on a cake. Love your soft color combo and unique use of the card basics die to draw your eye to the luscious cake! Thanks for the inspiration!
