Hi there! Welcome to the first group post of May for Papertrey Ink! You are in for a lovely treat today, as we showcase the oh, so beautiful Floral Sketches and Calligraphy Classics stamp sets.
I thoroughly enjoyed sitting down and getting creative with both of these sets. They will remain on my craft table to use over and over again. My first card uses just the Floral Sketches stamp set and coordinating dies. I die cut my flowers and leaves from watercolor cardstock and then embossed the inside details of the flowers using white embossing powder. I then stamped my images over the embossing, adding water to lightly blend and smudge the colors together. I love this effect.
I used Sweet Blush, Autumn Rose, Hibiscus Burst, Bright Buttercup, Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides, Spring Moss, and Simply Chartreuse. The sentiments in this set are so unique and perfect for sending a note just to say you're thinking of someone. I added in some extra fillers using the Wildflower Garden dies.
My next card uses a sentiment from the Calligraphy Classics stamp set. It is stamped in the center of my card in Fine Linen, framed in with a die cut Garden Garland die.
My flowers from Floral Sketches were die cut from watercolor cardstock and stamped in Fine Linen, Americana, Autumn Rose, Spring Rain, Winter Wisteria, Spring Moss, and Ocean Tides.
I added water over each stamped images to once again, smudge and blend the colors. I just love these floral images! They remind me of flowers I may have seen in vintage nursery rhyme story books, or on tea towels at my grandma's house...just precious and so much fun to explore by trying out new techniques.
Thanks for your visit! Be sure to stop in and see what the other designers have created to share:
Love the soft look of today's first card, it is just so delicate and girly! Thanks for sharing your technique to get this look.

Wish you would do a video showing just how you blend out the watercolors. I didn't like when they moved your image to the bottom of the design team images, but now love it knowing they saved the best for last! I always think I can get by without a set until I see what you've done with it. These flowers are just beautiful!
