Good Morning Friends! It's another beautiful day in paradise here :)....sun, heat, wind, dust, repeat, repeat. I was slightly relieved of this vicious cycle while creating for today's Papertrey Ink group post. It's all about the tropics...fresh and fruity!
My first card uses the new Some Like it Hot stamp set and coordinating dies. These gorgeous images come to life with each layer of ink you add....really fun, and the end results are stunning. My MISTI helped immensely lining up my images and creating vibrant layers.
I layered my stamped images over a die cut Monthly Moments: Journal Card 8. Across the bottom of my card I used a decorative border from the new Tropics stamp set and a sentiment from the new It's the Thought stamp set.
On my next card, I used the Tropics stamp set for my sentiment and also for my white, heat embossed leaves. I wanted a soft, subtle look to these lovely leaves, and went with white on white.
I had to use the darling flamingo from the Some Like it Hot stamp set....truly, it's the cutest thing, and of course, the pineapple is as well, so I popped both onto my Gesso/stenciled layer using the Woodblock Prints stencil collection.
Down the left edge, I pulled in the soft yellow of the pineapple by using Chicken Scratch Gingham.
You'll love these fresh, summertime sets! They are so unique and playful.
Thanks for visiting!
Melis

So very sweet, Melissa. Love that you thought of using a polka dotted journal card as a background. It really adds that little bit of whimsy that pulls it all together!

Seriously need to be a fly buzzing around the room while you create. More ideas on one card than is possible, yet looking perfectly composed! White gesso a favorite. Can't believe how great gingham looks with a flamingo! Colors amazing too! Gorgeous!

Hi Melissa,
I just bought the oxygen tank, and thank goodness I did, for I connected to it before I saw your creations, and although it was touch and go for a moment, I can breath better, now my heart, well, that is something else entirely different!
As I told Betsy and Kay, I am so accustomed to see these images, that I take them for granted and does not excite me the way that it does for everyone else, except for the flamingos, we have only ONE wild one that decide not to migrate to it's original place, what can I tell you My Country is GORGEOUS!!!!
But your creations are STUNNING and AWESOME and make me very happy! And you know the rest....when Mama is happy, everyone is happy!
Cariños,
María Alba
