Hi there! Are you ready for more new products from Papertrey Ink? My projects for today's post have been so much fun to create...just returning from the most wonderful trip to Yellowstone and Island Park, Idaho, and having all of these travel goodies to help put my memories together.
I created a travel journal using the following:
What the Doodle: Map stamps & dies
What the Doodle: Map watercoloring sheets
Traveler's Journal: Adventure stamps
Traveler's Journal: Typed Words stamps
Traveler's Journal: Envelope dies
Traveler's Journal: Outer Cover dies
Traveler's Journal Pages
Traveler's Journal Elastic Cord
Traveler's Journal Paper Collection
I watercolored my little map and attached it to a die cut Stitched Tag. I used the Cover Plate: Blue Skies to embellish the front of my journal as well, cutting it once from Gold Shimmer cardstock and once from Sheer Basics Vellum.
I stamped my sentiment from the What the Doodle: Map stamp set in Stormy Sea. These are so much fun to put together and I've always loved my mini albums nice and plump, bursting at the seams....this one will most definitely turn out that way when finished :).
Heather has put together a great tutorial on how to bind your album. You can find it on the Papertrey Ink blog. Here's just a peek at the inside pages of mine...not yet journaled on or embellished.
And I love the elastic cord that holds everything together nice and snug.
Here's a couple of journal pages showing you more of the fun new products and my jumping off point.
I love tabs, tags, twine, and such jutting out from my pages, so I added a die cut Edgers #5 die cut from Ocean Tides cardstock to the top of this page, stamping and stapling to embellish it a bit.
The darling new Envelope Die just melts me....I'm a sucker for tiny envelopes and getting to create my own in whatever pattern I choose is the best thing ever :). I added my title to a die cut Keep it Simple Frames die.
In this particular envelope I tucked in my daughter's list of license plates she collected as we were on our road trip. We just about got them all....except for Rhode Island :). More than anything though, I love capturing her handwriting, her notes, her personality...
The mini glassine bags are jut the right size to fold at the bottom and tuck in these albums as well....I love the translucent effect of these pretty little things. In this bag I've tucked in a stamped and die cut Tag Sale #1. I used a flair button from A Flair for Buttons and cork embellishments from Freckled Fawn to add little touches here and there. Can't wait to involve Sierra and let her finish her album before summer ends.
For my card I used paper from the Traveler's Journal paper collection and die cut a heart using the Stitched Primitive Hearts die. Before adhering it to my card front, I stamped a background in Fine Linen using images from the What the Doodle: Map stand set,
I then added more die cut hearts, and little tabs including sentiments from the Traveler's Journal: Adventure and Traveler's Journal: Typed Words stamp sets. I adore the tiny typed font :)....it's a favorite of mine. Lastly I added my sentiment from the Keep it Simple: Missing You set, stamping in Pure Poppy ink.
So many fun and unique products for you to enjoy as summer winds down...just in time to help you capture memories of the wanderings you've experienced with your loved ones.
Thanks for stopping by!
Melis
