throwback thursday - phrase play #9...

Hello there!  I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!  Today I'm joining Papertrey Ink with Throwback Thursday featuring the Phrase Play #9 stamp set and dies.  Creating Winter-themed cards is a fun way to make your holiday stamp sets stretch into January :).

I began with the Mix & Mat:  Berry Boughs die collection, die cutting it from Stamper's Select White cardstock and inking the edges with watermark ink and then heat embossing them using aqua blue embossing powder.  I then added snowflakes to the top of my die cut, using snowflakes cut from the Phrase Play #9 die along with Snowfall Style 1, 2, and Silver White Wishes.  These are layered together and topped with a stamped and die cut image from the Beautiful Berries:  Winter stamp set and dies.

Across the bottom I used die cut pieces, cut using different colored paper and the Phrase Play #9 die.  I used the Two Feet Deep stamp set to build my sentiment onto of the fun, Phrase Play #9 die.

My card today uses the gorgeous, Make it Market Kit:  Wonderland from Papertrey Ink...it's one I just can't get enough of!  I began by stamping a border of trees across the bottom of my card using Spring Moss and Prairie Grass ink.  In the background I stamped Sweet Blush pink snowflakes from the Silver White Wishes stamp set.

I then used the scalloped oval die from the Wonderland kit and white glittered cardstock in order to create a focal point in the center of my card.  I created a winter scene using floral stamps and dies along with a snowy background, and sentiment, all from the Wonderland kit.

I accented with white snowflakes, die cut using the Silver White Wishes die collection, sequins, and a few adhesive pearls.  Across the bottom I added a second sentiment from the Keep it Simple:  Christmas stamp set.  All of the Papertrey Ink supplies used on this card are linked for you below.

J-O-Y...

Hello my friends!  I hope to have a little time to create and share this week.  As Christmas quickly approaches, I am soaking in the days leading up to it...they are my favorites.  Baking, sharing, creating, wrapping, preparing...I enjoy it all!  Oh, and watching holiday movies too....isn't it all so much fun?  

My card today uses a combination of stamps from Papertrey Ink.  I couldn't put away my new Farmer's Market Florals and decided to use them with some Christmas stamps to see how they'd look put all together...I think I LOVE florals with holiday stamps.  I used the Rustic Wreath, Beautiful Berries:  Winter, and What the Doodle:  Snowflakes stamp sets.

As well as the Enclosed:  Bell for my sentiment, and a snowflake from the Silver White Wishes die collection.  Across the bottom I used Bitty Big Aqua Mist paper, cut using the Round Off Edgers as well.  All of the supplies I've used are listed for you below.

sunshine & honey + stuck on you...

Welcome back!  Today the Papertrey Ink team is introducing two new stamp sets and coordinating dies...they are pretty darned adorable!  My first card uses the new Sunshine & Honey set.

I've combined it with the Farmer's Market Florals and have created a card to bring a little sunshine to someone special.  I stamped in my newest favorite color combo, Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, Mint Julep, Ocean Tides, Harvest Gold, Bright Buttercup, Spring Rain, and Aqua Mist.

I've used the new Mix & Mat:  Hearts die in the background along with Bitty Big Aqua Mist paper.  My heart frame is from one of my most beloved kits, the Make it Market:  Shaker's + Sprinkles.

Next up is the new Stuck on You stamp set and dies....how sweet!  I love the tiny bandaids and their fixin's...they're fun to dress up and add character to, or simply stamp on.

I used the heart die from the You Have My Heart collection, stamping my sentiments above and below the die cut bandaid.  The top sentiment is from the new Keep it Simple:  Brighter Days stamp set and the bottom sentiment can be found in the Stuck on You set.

The tiny Harvest Gold felt sunshine is from the Sunshine & Honey die collection.  In the background I've used the Cover Plate:  Hearts die and Bitty Big Aqua Mist paper, with Bitty Big Sweet Blush used across the bottom.

New Papertrey Ink Products Used:

 

 

huggables + fun lovin'...

Hello there Honey!  Today's Papertrey Ink group post is filled with utterly irresistible products that I have had so much fun creating with!  My first project uses the new Huggables:  Bear stamp set and coordinating dies, the Matchbook Medley dies, and the Pencil Arrows dies....you'll love them!

After assembling my matchbook, I started piecing together my Huggable Bear, using the Tag Sale:  Huggable die.  My bear was cut using Kraft cardstock as well as patterned paper, including Bitty Big Sweet Blush.  After stamping the bear's face, I added a bit of sponging to her cheeks and added the fun die cut pieces that add personality and character.  My color palette includes Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, and Bright Buttercup.

The tiny honey jar is included in the Huggables: Bear stamp set and dies, along with the darling and playful sentiments.  I stamped my sentiment on a Tremendous Tag.  The Matchbook Medley dies are so much fun...all sorts of tiny details, all thoughtfully combined together.  My favorite are the little borders you can add to the bottom of your matchbook to add pattern and personality.  I added a bow to the bear's neck using the Brilliant Baubles stamp set and dies.

The Pencil Arrow dies are perfect for Valentine's Day and can be altered in lots of different ways.  I added hearts to the tip of my arrow, using dies from the Matchbook Medley and You Have my Heart die collections.  I also added a die from the Huge Sentiments die collection as well.

At the end of my arrow, I used Kraft cardstock along with the Pencil Arrow dies, mixing in a junk bow to add some frills.  

My next card uses the sweet Fun Lovin' stamp set and coordinating dies.  This one is classic Valentine, filled with playful sentiments, icons, and fun ideas for the kiddos.

I used the ice-cream cone from the set, stamping in Fine Linen, Bright Buttercup, Mint Julep, Berry Sorbet, Aqua Mist, and Hawaiian Shores.  I love the tiny sentiments included in the set...they're the prefect size to tuck in here and there.

In the background, I used my favorite die ever....the Mix & Mat:  Hearts die.  It's layered over a Harvest Gold background, which is layered over Bitty Big Aqua Mist paper.

So much to love about this release, don't you think?

Papertrey Ink New Products Used:

 

 

year of psalms: december and round off edgers dies...

Morning!  Today I am sharing a project created with the beautiful, new Year of Psalms:  December stamp set, from Papertrey Ink.  I love this Psalm....truly amazing to think that this is true and precisely how our Father thinks of us!  I began by stamping my image on watercolor cardstock using Amethyst Allure, Lovely lady, and Hawaiian Shores.  I then stamped with watermark ink and coated the image with clear embossing powder.  After I heat the powder and set it in place, I sponged on ink in the same colors I stamped with and spritzed on some water to start blending the colors together.

I then used the Monthly Moments:  Journal Card 2 die to cut my sentiment from the block of cardstock and attached it to the front of my card.  Behind my sentiment, I used a variety of patterned papers, all with the bottom edges cut using the new Round Off Edgers dies, creating a fun, layered look with this darling new collection of dies.

I then added baker's twine and die cut stars, cut using the Small Sketched Stars die collection and silver cardstock.  I added sequins to finish and can't wait to share this card with someone very special!

New Papertrey Ink Products Used:

 

you have my heart & perfect fit...

It's day 2 of the December release from Papertrey Ink and be still my heart!...it's full of all of the things I love :).  I've used the new You Have My Heart and Envelope Die to create my first project.

I used the coordinating You Have My Heart dies and created a little tag to tuck inside the die cut envelope.  It was cut from Kraft cardstock and then stamped with images from the set using Pure Poppy, True Black, and Scarlet Jewel.  I then added stamped and die cut flowers from the new Farmer's Market Florals and added die cut hearts and an arrow, all from the You Have My Heart Heart die collection.

I die cut my envelope from patterned paper and lined it with Bitty Big Pure Poppy paper.  I then attached the die cut hearts that create the envelope closures and a couple of metal snaps as well.  Such a fun die set!

This card uses the new Perfect Fit stamp set and coordinating dies....you'll love the sentiments included.  They are so sweet and fun, not just for Valentine's Day but for other occasions as well.

I stamped on a die cut Mix & Mat:  Heart frame, mixing and matching puzzle pieces in Melon Berry, Lilac Grace, Sweet Blush, and Bright Buttercup.  I then added my double heart die cut and stamped Tremendous Tag.  The "I Love You" die cut on the front of the heart is the new Ways to Say:  I Love You die...adorable!

New Papertrey Ink Products Used:

 

farmer's market florals + huge sentiments...

Good morning, friends!  I hope you're enjoying a beautiful Sunday today...I know that I certainly am.  Today is the first day of Papertrey Ink's December release and I get to share with you the loveliest, new floral stamp set ever, called Farmer's Market Florals.  It makes me feel like a true artist each time I stamp and watch a flower come to life!  This gorgeous set was designed by Dawn McVey we all know what a master she is at creating timeless floral sets.

For my first card, I used the "stamping-off" technique to create my background.  This technique creates soft and subtle coloration and combined with this particular stamp set, reminds me of watercolor.  

I used a new and oh, so fun, heart die in the center of my card, you'll hear more about it very soon.  It is cut from Bitty Big Aqua Mist paper.  I then added stamped and die cut Farmer's Market Florals, this time more bold in coloration to make them stand out a bit.  My sentiment is from the new Huge Sentiments stamp set...one that you're sure to love as it fits every occasion under the sun!

Next, I've used the Farmer's Market Florals over the new Mix & Mat:  Hearts die...isn't this a gorgeous new addition to the Mix &  Mat Series.  My card base uses Berry Sorbet cardstock, which makes the bright white heart frame really stand out from the background.  I love those dark pink hearts peeking through :).

I used two other elements found in the Huge Sentiments stamp set and coordinating dies.  I love the tiny banner that is one step in building your sentiment, and of course the double layered dies which create so much interest and personality.

I used a couple of the smaller flowers found in the Farmer's Market Florals stamp set, stamping in Spring Rain, Pure Poppy, Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Mint Julep, and Spring Moss.

Lastly, I used all of the flowers found in the Farmer's Market Florals stamp set on this card, using the Berry Wreath die to create my focal point.  

You'll fall in love with these florals so quickly, as they just come to life before your eyes and truly turn out stunning each time.  Part of the fun is trying out different color combinations.


I used the triple-step sentiment combination from the Huge Sentiments collection...so much fun to build custom sentiments using these products.  You may notice at the bottom of my card, a beautiful, rounded, scallop edge?  Another new product that will have you swooning!  It's from the Round Off Edgers die collection and is just dreamy :).

reverse confetti december blog hop...

Welcome to the Reverse Confetti December Blog Hop!  Today I've chosen to use the darling Cool Friend stamp set and coordinating Confetti Cuts to create a sweet little tag and gift wrap.

I LOVE paper-piecing and have used that technique here on my two snowmen, adding patterned paper to their hats.  I used paper from the Very Merry and Warm Heart 6x paper pads.  I also used Copic Markers and Stickles in Diamond to add color and shimmer.  My tag was created using the Scalloped Squares Confetti Cuts and paper from the Cheerful & Kind 6x6 paper pad.  

I added a few snowflakes cut from glitter cardstock using the Snowflake Trio Confetti Cuts and attached it to my gift box.  It was created using the Clear Box & Wrap Combo and paper from the Very Merry 6x6 paper pad.  I LOVE clear boxes and Reverse Confetti has the funnest collection of them that make packages look so pretty!

papertrey ink tips...

Good morning!  Welcome to Papertrey Ink's Design Team Tips.  I'm here with you today sharing a fun project idea I'm calling Picture Windows.  I remember as a small girl, waiting with my mom outside the ZCMI Center in Salt Lake City, UT, for the grand reveal of their magical holiday window displays.  I was always enchanted and loved how each window told its own story.  My cards today use dies in a unique way in which you can create your own picture windows, complete with snowy, whimsical, and timeless scenes.

The supplies I've used on my cards today are all listed and linked for you at the end of my post.

For my first card, I began with a base of Stormy Sea cardstock.  I then cut a heart from my patterned paper using the Enclosed:  Heart die.  This provided the perfect window where I could nestle in my snowy hills, trees, and winter church.  I used the Cover Plate:  Snowdrifts and Petite Places:  Church dies and simply cut them from Stamper's Select White cardstock.

Before adhering them in place, I stamped snow falling using Ocean Tides ink and the Background Basics:  Celestial Sky and my sentiment in True Black using the Beautiful Berries:  Winter stamp set.  I then added a few berries (also from the Beautiful Berries:  Winter stamp set) and a die cut snowflake, cut using the Silver White Wishes die collection.  I finished with snowflake sequins which are from the Holiday Tag Along Kit.  Such a delightful card to create :).

My next card is more whimsical and playful and uses the Christmas Critters inside the window.  I love the little scene the tiny mice, candy cane, presents, holly leaves, and steaming hot cocoa make :).

I began with Bitty Big Aqua Mist paper and then used the Mix & Mat:  Pretty Brackets and glittered cardstock to start creating my window.  The Christmas Tree die was used in the center and is one of my most favorite seasonal dies...such a great size and shape.  

After stamping my Christmas Critters inside the window on Stamper's Select White cardstock, I added my sentiment which uses the Cloche Quarters and Cloche Quarters Sentiments Mini stamp sets.  I added a few berries and leaves from the Brilliant Baubles stamp set and a candy cane from the Christmas Critters stamp set to finish.

Lastly, I used the Stitched Primitive Star die to create my window, cutting it from patterned paper and layering it over my Stamper's Select White card base.

Inside the window I used the sweet Christmas Faith stamp set and dies to create my scene, stamping in soft pastels for the holiday.  I selected the color scheme of Sweet Blush, Aqua Mist, Lilac Grace, Spring Moss, and Autumn Rose.  At the top of my star I added a stamped and die cut bow found in the Brilliant Baubles stamp set.

I encourage you to use your dies in unique ways, such as creating windows where you can build scenes of your choosing.  I can't wait to take a peek inside your picture windows!
