Good morning! Welcome to the first day of the January Papertrey Ink release. It's sure to be a fresh, inspiring start to the new year! My first card uses the new Fiesta Flag: Birthday stamp set and coordinating dies...so cute!
I used the new, Stencil Basics: Diamond on my card base, using Aqua Mist, Harvest Gold, and Pale Peony. I then layered on some Bitty Big: Aqua Mist patterned paper along with Sheer Basics Vellum. Next came my focal point, created using the Basic Backer die. I added my die cut and stamped cake and banner and a few streamers from the new Birthday Balloons stamp set. Across the bottom of my card I used another new stamp set that you'll soon be hearing more about called Never Enough: Birthday.
The Fiesta Flag: Birthday set is so playful and easily adaptable for boys or girls, young or old!
Next up is the adorable, new Hinged Gift Card Box die. I am in love with this tiny, bitty thing...it's truly so cute. I die cut my gift card box from Bitty Big Sweet Blush patterned paper and then added my die cut "enjoy" which I layered over Bitty Big Aqua Mist.
I embellished my box with some cute flowers you'll find in another new stamp set that we'll be talking about soon...I LOVE it :).
My card uses the new Quoted: Friendship stamp set and I had so much fun with this one. The sentiment is perfect for friendships, anniversaries, birthdays, and even Valentine's Day.
I used the new Mix & Mat: Confetti dies to create my background and focal point. I then heat embossed portions of my sentiments using white embossing powder and then stamped the other sections in Pure Poppy and True Black ink.
Of course I had to use more of those sweet flowers :)...along with Bitty Big Sweet Blush and Aqua Mist paper.
There's plenty more to see on the Papertrey Ink blog and remember all of these new products will be available on January 15th, 10PM EST.
Enjoy your day!
Melis

The colours on your birthday card are so festive and fun. I adore your last card. The bright red is fabulous against the more muted pink and teal, and the florals are gorgeous. Thanks for the inspiration.

I adore the new friendship sentiment and have great plans for it. I have so many long time friendships from our Navy community. We were all so young, and because we were a select Navy program we traveled to closed areas of the world - no civilian communities around us. We were sisters, aunts, more than just friends - we were family. In fact, our sweet daughter-in-law is the youngest daughter of long time navy friends in that community. We have known her parents since before she was born. Friends and now family - we share a little grandson. And now you know the rest of the story. The sentiment is perfect! I love the Mat frame and the gift box too. Thank you for all the inspiration.

Beautiful cards. That quote will quickly be my favorite. It fits so many of my friends.

I always enjoy your cards, Melissa, but some cause me to stop so that I can take in every detail. That is what happened with the birthday card and its multicolored diamond background. And using the balloon strings as colorful streamers is fabulous. I'll need to remember that idea.
