Hello there! Today I am happy to be participating in a super fun blog hop for Spellbinders! I have created a project using Spellbinders Tammy Tutterow dies....they're dreamy!
I've used the darling Sew Sweet collection to create my spring tag...who says hearts are just for Valentine's Day?:)
I love that Spellbinders dies along with the Platinum 6 die cutting machine cut through felt so effortlessly. Using elements besides paper is among my favorite way to use my dies. I used the Sew Sweet Valentine collection for my tag base. The darling scalloped heart was cut using creamy, white wool felt. I then used patterned paper for my solid heart layer.
Next came the fun part...embellishing using trims, wool felt, fabric, and Sew Sweet dies. I had to use my cute Vintage Easter Bunnies flair too, from A Flair for Buttons....it's adorable!
Besides the Sew Sweet Valentine collection, I also used dies from the Posies and Pennies collection to create my layered flowers. The vines were cut from corrugated cardstock and then coated with embossing enamel, then melted and I love the frosty, shabby look of them. I cut the die cut banner in half and used a die cut word from the Sew Sweet Sentiments collection and a stamp for the second half of the sentiment. I can't wait to see what else I'm inspired it make with these darling collections.

Melissa, I'm not sure where to start. To find myself designing on this Blog Hop after you is a dream come true for me, and certainly nothing I had ever dreamed of. I came across your work in Card Magazine while living in Phoenix in 2008. I was smitten by your Christmas House and determined to create one for myself. I had never heard of bloggers or the paper crafting community. I had always been interested in art - primarily watercolor. When I found your blog and read your posts - well, it was instant, that's all I can say. I knew what your heart said between the lines and I always appreciated your thoughtful and caring responses. Your work today is nothing less - it's beauty fills the soul with all the good feels. And I'm delighted to say so. Thank you for sharing the unique gifting our Lord has given you.
Hugs,
Susie ~

Very inspiring! I tend to use very dark colors, so your use of lighter colors is very inspiring! I'm a tactile person so every part of me wanted to touch all the parts of your card which is worthy of being framed/put into a shadow box for safe keeping.
