I love all of the fun DIY pumpkin projects floating around Pinterest. There are so many I'd love to try my hand at and make in my own style, such as the twine pumpkin made for today's post.
I have a thing for treasure hunting in my local hardware store...it's my favorite place to hang out, just ask my husband :). I look at things on the shelves with eyes wide open to the many possibilities of a seemingly, boring item. Hinges, balls of twine, keys, metal washers, chicken wire, sigh...a small town girl has to find her own fun, so that's where the hardware store comes in.
I dressed up my ball of twine, Parcel Post Twine, to be more precise, using flannel leaves cut using the Leaf Prints die collection from Papertrey Ink, and mixed in a paper leaf from Prima, and a hand-stamped tag using the 2009 Autumn Tags Stamp set.
A vintage, wooden spool I had, serves perfectly as the stem, and is wrapped and tied with some of my tea-stained twill.
I love the look of mixing creams and whites, so I added a strip of vintage trim around my pumpkin, and then a string of vintage buttons over the top. A few trinket pins here and there, makes this a perfect, festive, fall addition to my craft room.
Here are a few other ideas I hope to try this fall, some for the home, some for the tummy :).
Look at these darlings....Vintage Chenille Pumpkins by Sew Sweet Vintage.
Glazed Pumpkin Donuts by Barefoot and Baking...I would love a platter full of these, sticky, sweet, heavenly morsels, right now, for my dinner please.
Aqua pumpkins....be still my heart. From Heather Cameron Stylist. I will be trying these with my Catalina Mist Krylon paint.
Sweet, shabby, grungy, perfect pumpkin from The Old White House. I would leave this out year round, it's so cute.
Time to get busy on dinner.
Have a lovely night.
